And I already have to break a promise, and try something else.
Added 2016-08-03 22:53:20 +0000 UTCOkay, I should explain the deal with PSD files.
Only about 10% of a single art piece from me is actually done in Photoshop. The actual drawing is done in Paint Tool SAI. I take the PNG of a SAI file, open it in Photoshop, and apply some post-processing effects, like blurring, texture overlays, sometimes a watermark if it's, say, a Death's Metal or Equestrian Sweethearts pic (those are all leading to something big in the future). Then, I save that as a PSD file, which are not the ones you receive if you're a $20 patron.
Unfortunately, since SAI handles shading and layering slightly differently than Photoshop does, that means the layer effects are negatively effected, and I can't apply post-processing to a SAI file saved as a PSD file. That's why none of the PSD files I've sent out include post-processing effects, which are a significant part of giving my pics a good looking edge. It feels like I'm shortchanging you guys. Besides, what's the point in giving you those files if you can't even use them effectively?
So, here's what I'm going to do. Instead of just throwing big, complex files for programs some might not even have, I'm going to send out process pics instead. That means PNGS of sketches, lines, colors and shading.
I want to do right by you guys. I'm sure this is a much better way to show my respect.
