All valid points! I think all of their individual tracks they've been dropping since debut have left a much bigger mark. Just looking back on their previous album 'Riizing' (which was a collection of their previously released tracks), that was so much better. Impossible? 9 Days? Honestly? 👨🏻🍳💋 I wish we got more of that!

It feels like a calmer cousin of some of their other songs. I can't help but feel they are bringing out the 2015 - 2017 soft edm vibes out with the chorus. I like the soft vocal approach. I wish the outro would have been grander. 2. Bad Bag Back - 4/10 - Riize is not a hip-hop centered group. Some of them can rap but I'm not convinced when they act 'hard'. I wish this was replaced with something more vulnerable, or personal, rather than anything braggadocious. They went through so much since they debuted, I hate the mediocrity of this. 3. Ember to Solar - 6/10 - sounds like generic drum n bass slightly aggressive song, once again their shouting rapping style ain't for me. Anton sounds amazing on it tho and so does Sohee. I could hear it on Camp Rock or something. 4. Fly Up - 2/10 - I really don't like this song. They don't sound bad but it's just so elementary school and it's so High School Musical. Uninspired, generic, uninteresting, etc. Horrible choice for the title track. 5. Show Me Love - 5/10 - Sohee sounds really good in that opening line but the song is unremarkable and generic 80s ballad. 6. Passage - N/A - not really a song but beautiful nonetheless, from sound to video direction. 7. Midnight Mirage - 6/10 - I don't like the autotune choice on the vocals. I like the beat tho and the chorus sung together. Pretty good and relaxing and it's giving 2019 energy. 8. The End of the Day - 5/10 - Not bad but I'm not a slow 90s ballad type of gal. They all sound beautiful. So I'm gonna score them right in the middle. I wish there was a stronger chorus melody. 9. Inside My Love - 6/10 - It's giving early EXO, I like it! I love the vocal pairings. 10. Another Life - 9.5/10 - hands down the best song. Atmospheric, great vocal highlights, Sohee and Wonbin came in with a mission. I love the lyrics too. It's been on repeat since this song came out. I love that strong chorus and thuds and the guitar on the outro. So good, it's just so good. Dare I say one of their best songs? Total album score: 5.7/10. So, very similar to your 3/5!! Overall, I don't like this musical direction. It feels very Disney Channel made for pre-teens. I don't think their fanbase is that young, it's moreso late teens and young adults now. They should've (imo) stayed faithful for their 'Impossible' sound and got more personal. I think they should take inspiration from Troye Sivan and his soundscape. It also feels like they are putting on a too-positive facade considering what they've been through with SM, with the Seunghan situation, and so much fan pressure. This happy, carefree direction feels insincere. Their music should be more vulnerable in the future and they should invest in stronger melodies.
