Purity's Purity 3
Added 2019-09-13 04:00:59 +0000 UTCPurity stared at the slime monster that was emerging from the doorway. The magical woman took a deep breath, keeping her eyes upon the creature. She held her hands out in front of her, forming a heart with her fingers. A bright flash of pink exploded out from her, filling the room with flashing pink and white hearts. I had to partially cover my eyes to keep myself from getting blinded by the barrage and to see what was happening next. Before me, the woman transformed. Her skin grew into a healthier sheen. Her hair lengthened, rolling down to her shoulders. Ties and clips formed, and long tails swirled around her head, looping into an impressive shape to match her heart theme.
In a sparkle of light, her pink dress formed on top of her body. Upon her sleeve, her heart shield flashed into existence. When she opened her eyes, the bright pink had returned, and her pupils held the same heart-shape I had come to recognize as the symbol of her heroism.
“I’m still a hero,” Purity said. “I will protect the pure and make sure no harm becomes them from things like you!” She stood there, pointing at the slime, her other hand squarely held over her heart.
The slime took on a humanoid shape. Seeing the two together, I could swear Purity and the slime were sisters if one wasn’t translucent green goop. It even had a heart motif in the floating red thing inside of its transparent chest.
Seeing Purity transformed, the slime held up its hands and pressed its back up against the door.
“Wait!” It said in an echoey voice. “Please, I’m sorry about what happened, but I’m here for your help!”
I jumped in, stuffing my flaccid member back inside my shell in a most undignified matter, but I had to defend my lady friend.
Purity lowered her accusatory finger just a bit and spoke up. “You caused me a lot of headaches, you horse-drinking fiend.”
Obviously, I was out of the loop as to what happened between the two.
The slime planted her own hand upon her chest and responded. “I know, and after we… made love, I learned so much, and I learned it because of you. I can’t make up for it. If you wish to destroy me, go ahead, but please, you must save Tik Tik.”
Upon hearing that name, I rushed up to the slime. “Tik Tik? Is she in danger? Where is she? Tell me!”
The slime glanced down at me a moment, a gasp passing through her mouth. “Cynwrig!?”
“I’ll help you.”
The slime and I both turned toward Purity. The slime spoke up “Thank you, I—”
Purity shook her head. “Not for you, but for Cynwrig. We still have things to work out. Just because you’re sorry doesn’t mean you’re off the hook.”
There was a palpable discomfort between the two, but the slime, who introduced herself then as ‘Eshere’ led us out of the building and through the streets towards where Tik Tik was. She filled me in on what had happened with my kobold friend since we missed each other. How Eshere had taken her in when the authorities wanted to arrest Tik Tik, how the two had traveled out into the city at large, and, most distressingly, how the demon possessing her had been biding her time until just recently.
And our journey ended at the entrance of a small shop, where the scent of baked goods wafted through. “It’s wonderful,” I groaned, rubbing my tummy. “So much sugar. I have to have some.”
Purity stared up at the sign. “This is my favorite study spot. How did you find this place?”
Eshere pushed the door open, pointing to her core. “I don’t think I was quite as blunt as I should have been. Purity… when I fed on you, I gained some of your memories and emotions. But we don’t have time to talk about that. Come please. There’s many to meet.
Inside the bakery, we were greeted by the sight of faces new and familiar. Tybalt, the Paladin of Love, sat at a table opposite the harpy from the town’s square, whose name, I found out then, is Gayle. There was also the proprietor of the establishment, a man created out of chocolate and other assorted sweets, which I could hardly keep myself from salivating over. He gave a knowing wink toward me, and I had to calm myself down.
The baker stepped forward, his hands outstretched. “So nice to see you finally back, darling. I’ve wanted to show you the new me. Seems you’ve changed a bit, as well.”
“Not as much as you have, Baker!” Purity gawked. “But where is this possessed one? I need to see her now.”
“She’s safe, darling, don’t worry. Don’t mistake my calm for cold. After all, I have her and Eshere here to thank for my transformation.”
Eshere nodded at Purity, who glanced at the slime for only a quick moment of recognition.
“So, what exactly is going on with Tik Tik right now?” Purity asked.
“I’m afraid it’s my fault,” said Tybalt, who stood up, giving Purity a bow. “I thought I could exorcise the demon using the techniques of the Church of love. Unfortunately, the Deom that had attached her proved to be far too formidable. Yet, we had it trapped within Tik Tik’s mind. I thought it could be controlled, but I didn’t realize that the vices of Anteronia were making it stronger and-”
“Where is Tik Tik?” I piped up. “Is this a dire situation or not?”
“It can be, but not yet,” Tybalt added. “I recognized the growing demonic power and sealed it off as best as I could. She’s in the other room, stuck inside a protective circle. Purity: I learned much about this city on my journey alone, and you seem to be the only person we can turn to finally remove Zelb from Tik Tik.”
