STTA Hells Kitchen Cooking with Slayer Gates

At the end of the month, I would like to share a few of my experiments that I have done in the past to understand Mick Gordon's "Sound" better. Especially the production-related things. One aspect (apart from countless transcription sessions) was to meticulously recreate certain passages of his original songs. I think I went through a couple of those famous pieces of him, incl. Cultist Base, The only thing they fear is you, Slayer Gates, and also BFG Division.
All these exercises helped me also to get a better understanding of what kind of surgical precision it takes to create such a sound that obviously feels like a ten-ton hammer hitting your head.
Here is one short example and section from Slayer Gates (done from scratch). I have done a couple of those experiments in the past. At the moment I am composing a new piece where I might take this "sound template" into consideration.
Writing all these pieces has been quite an undertaking because it requires 1000 percent of dedication and you need a certain kind of craziness in your head to come up with stuff like that.
