Man, I really tried to ink this in seven minutes but just couldn't get it done. So this is officially a May release. The "beach episode" is fast approaching and I haven't fully decided on what the characters will wear. Or even who all will be there. Right now I've locked in Reggie, Victoria, Rulette, Carol, Thomas, Alex, and Brooksie. The characters who were at the hotel when they found the body. I think that was the entire team. As a little behind the scenes I'm trying to decide who else I can reasonably include. John was there, but I need there to be people who can run the store while this happens. Mike will be there and Ed and Nina also weren't at the hotel. The thing is though do I leave Nina, one of the canonically most beautiful characters out of the beach arc? She is going to have a huge character moment very soon and I try to balance out screen time as best I can. John really should be there, but Mike can't be the only character working. Mike, Nina, and Ed are more than enough to run the store while the rest of them do stuff. I think I have to accept that as the store team, because leaving John behind is so wildly unfair to him.
Additionally I could potentially have Jess attend as Jo's plus one since Jess basically operates in a world where she has no rules. She can be basically anywhere anytime since she has no job as such and she can coast through her education because she's essentially way below where she should be at the school she's attending.
It would be fun to include Evrina but it's pretty much established that it takes two people to run GBWB and she can only leave for an hour or two at a time, at specific times, and I haven't introduced the idea of more workers there. Plus it doesn't really make sense to have more staff while the business has also been established to be struggling to some degree. She would be hilarious to pit against Reggie again though.
It would make more sense for Maddie to go since the library has never had a firm number of staff members set out. I could potentially use Bridgette again too, but the number of characters is already pretty loaded up for that area with what I already have.
Anyway, you can see that I think about a lot of things as I decide who to place where as things go along. Sometimes you miss out on certain things because you have to maintain some level of realism once you've established the rules. It's not like I can't have more trips to the lake, assuming I live long enough considering the glacial pace of my work. I guess we'll see. It's a mystery.
