zBrush Base Body -

So, as I'm getting deeper into how to maximize character creation speed and workflow. zBrush has this crazy ability to make objects that you can customize. Kinda like how you can decide how many divisions a sphere has in blender when you first create it.

After, literally hours and hours, I FINALLY found the base body that all the Fantasy Character zBrush guys I look up to use - AAAAAAnnnd as luck would have it, it turns out it's on sale -

Just letting you guys know I'll be purchasing this as our female base for zBrush characters. I think it'll save LOTS of time and look real good at the same time :)

So, that actually brings up a really important problem we're going to have to solve in the near future - After we finish Macrophage and start to focus back on character design, one of the biggest issues we'll have to find a solution to is being able to generate lots of filler characters quickly to fill up crowds of people. For example if we wanted to do something like a Formula 1 or Grand Turismo style stadium scene, focusing the camera on the occasional raging jumping fan is a typical camera shot. Even though these characters may not be relevant to the story at all, it's important for them to not "look" like NPCs either - We'll probably have a whole month dedicated to finding the best quality "human character generator" later this year, thanks for sharing this info, I'll be sure to look into it :)

After watching your last video I was hooked on watching other videos for hours...I also came across a video on something called "MakeHuman" and a clothing app with a "shrink wrap"? option that made it fairly easy to add clothing to the body. The end result looked fabulous! I will try to find it again and let you know what that was called. He literally created a fabric, put it on the front and back of the body and the app "sowed" it together, then he used shrink wrap and it became a crop top, did it again on the legs and it became yoga pants form fit to the body. Interesting that it was smart enough not to shrink wrap all of the crop top to the body so it hung from the chest like a tight shirt but didn't shrink it all the way to the torso below! These tools could be good for getting base objects that can be modified from there. He also showed a tool for creating the hair that would capable of becoming a physics object in unity (i.e. affected by wind, movement, etc...) I hope the same was true about the clothing..
