So, a 3rd Person gameplay demo was the highest voted request. This was the consistent winner both here on the Squad AND for the Members on YouTube. So I'm going to do my best to fit a few tutorials with useful 3rd person related code before the end of the series -
3rd person, however, is in my opinion the most difficult type of game for a beginner. There's quite a few things required for it to work that I think fall beyond the scope of an introduction series. So, here's my plan:
In the intro series, I'm going to try show people how to make the simplest 'mobile-ish' game possible. So this will probably include 1: basic top down gameplay, 2: a basic score and increasing difficult system, 3: a start screen that says 'press start to play', 4: a 'game-over screen', and MAYBE, if people haven't gotten lost by that point, 5: A basic shop/customization menu to demonstrate fundamental customization features. I have a few weapon's from previous projects I've created, so I'll see if I can fix up a few for us to demo in our simple game.
Then, for another week or two, I'll drop a few more tutorials with 3rd person related systems and code, wrap up Macrophage with some Facial Mocap for a nice trailer with Exa talking, and be on our way back to sculpting and character creation/Shading techniques I've found along the way -
So, that's the plan in between now and the end of the Unity series. So far we're making good time, so I'll see you all next video :)
