Blender 2.83 : Female Walking Cycle Animation (In 3 Minutes!!!)

Today we tackle what I believe to be the most difficult human motion for new animators to recreate. Learn everything you need to get a solid female walking animation in Blender! Hope it helps :)

You could definitely use a driver to control the speed if you wanted to :) I would imagine the game-plan would be very similar to how you do it in AE, the math of it should be the same at least lol

I am not very good at rigging yet, but could you use a driver for this? Some sort of disconnected bone or other object that would adjust the animation speed of all the values based on its rate of position change along some axis? In AE we might do that with Expressions, to say turn a wheel at a specific rate. Not yet sure how to do it here. Also, at non-normal walk speeds, like f/e a very slow walk, the speed would affect other aspects of the rig because part of what keeps you upright is the momentum in the mass of the legs, etc. If the stride takes too long, one might fall over sideways. Interesting problem!

Awesome! But is there a method to making sure the speed of the character's actual movement in space is properly synced with the animation? Or do you just change up the speed until it looks good?
