Laser Manipulator in Absolute Death World.

To Solo This World, My Lasers are Enough.

-Morning-

(General P.O.V)

The light of the sun pierced through the wet leaves, washing warm rays onto a teenage boy asleep on the ground.

"Hn...yaaawn."

Delix blinked his eyes open, sitting up and looking around in confusion.

He did not recognize the surroundings. Instead of the ocean blue walls of his bedroom, he found large trees and a lush green wild.

Bird chirps, animal cries and the faint sound of rushing water reached his ears.

The sky above cracked with the rumble of thunder despite the absence of clouds.

He scratched his head, trying to formulate the right response to the strange kidnapping/abduction, he seemed to be the target of.

"What the...where the hell is this?"

Delix eventually muttered, surprise and confusion coating his fairly handsome face.

A flash of light appeared before his eyes, followed by a strange ring.

(Ding!)

(Dear User, You are in the Absolute Death Forest, south of the Arush Empire, Continent of Bedivere)

"So another world? Stop joking."

Delix shook his head, wondering if his life was in jeopardy with an ominous name like 'Absolute Death Forest.'

Somehow he wasn't getting freaked out by the gaming interface, which was definitely the strangest thing out of the whole experience.

His hand phased through it's blue display, further killing off his hope that this was an elaborate prank.

(Please refrain from further violation or you shall lose your hand)

Delix lowered his arm with an embarrassed cough. So the Interface was sentient, making it similar to the systems in those shitty webnovels he used to read a few years ago.

(The Absolute Death Forest is populated with many terrifying S rank monsters, dear user. To protect yourself, access your starter ability by saying 'Status')

Monsters? Delix was spooked. And why was the System ignoring his questions? Where was it's 'User friendliness?'

"Can't believe I'm actually doing this...huh...Status."

He nonetheless followed it's instructions. He didn't want to die after all.

Almost immediately, a new row of information took over.

"Laser manipulation?" He scratched his head."Like Superman's heat vision, lightsabers and death star rays or something along the lines of Cyclops concussive beams?"

Say what you will about him, but Delix was a cultured geek.

The only thing missing was the stereotypical glasses, wimpy or fat body and acne ridden face to fit the image of what people thought Geeks and Nerds looked like.

In contrast, Delix actually worked out, had never needed glasses in his life and his skin was tanned or in other words, Delix was black.

Despite that, a natural shut in was he. One that loved gaming, had an Anime YouTube channel, collected and read comics and generally lived for that weekly updated chapter of the one piece Manga.

So it was an understatement to say, Delix knew a lot about Lasers.

(Ding)

(Updating...)

The panel returned, freezing with the words, updating. Slow jazz started playing in his head.

Delix guessed it was another feature from this weird game system.

"Something tells me it's going to stay there for a while. Might as well look around."

He got up, dusting his ass off while studying his surroundings.

The sun was straight above him, making it lunch time and as if on cue his belly begun to rumble.

"I'm starving. Maybe I can find something to eat while looking around."

Behind him was a rocky hill- in fact he seemed to be at the foot of the cliff- and infront was a small path leading into the dark forest.

To his left came the sound of water but the dense vegetation put him off.

He was barefoot after all, walking through thicket carried a risk of stepping on sharp rocks or thorns.

Decision made, he followed the path, doing his best to stay quiet and cautious.

"Like Rambo. They won't see me unless I wanna be seen."

He psyched himself up, eyes sweeping this way and that.

His goofy side took over and he performed a roll, ducking behind a tree.

"You can't see me..."

He waved his palm infront of his face.

(Ding!)

"Aah!"

The sudden prompt from the panel spooked him.

(Just a reminder User, the Absolute Death Forest is populated by numerous S rank monsters. I would advise you exercise caution.)

"Oh, yeah...got a bit carried away there."

He scratched his head, feeling stupid.

'Focus, Del. This is how stupid MC's die. By getting caught up in the excitement.'

Now-actually quiet-he slowly continued, obsessing over the fact the Game system was still updating.

One thing that became obvious was how hot it was.

Fortunately, the path was surrounded by tall trees, providing a cool shade that protected him from the overbearing heat of the sun.

And with the leaves carpeting the ground, Del felt like he was taking an afternoon stroll in the park rather than a dangerous jungle.

After walking for close to 30 minutes, Del suddenly stopped. The trees here were different, more sparsely gathered.

The reason was the presence of thorny bushes growing on the sides of the road and among the trees.

Purple berries hang off the bushes, similar to grapes. He went and plucked a few, debating whether to risk getting poisoned or starving.

"YOLO." With a nonchalant shrug he threw one into his mouth and bit down. Sweet juices spread across his tongue, better than grapes. Or anything he'd ever tasted in his life.

Delix almost choked on a pit, taken aback by the extent of the System's update.

In no time, he'd gone from squishy human to the top of the foodchain. Maybe, just maybe, getting kidnapped into another world wasn't the worst.
