Reborn As Gods' Blood Chapter 1.

-0-

Above a mountain range larger than the Himalayas,

Two Godly Beings were engaged in a fierce battle that shook the Earth and tore the skies.

Streaks of red and gold lightning clashed above a forest, sending out shockwaves that decimated hundreds of square miles in seconds.

It was a catastrophic battle that could be heard and felt from afar. People hid in their homes, and beasts cowered in caves- others escaping in droves towards the edge of the forests into Human settlements.

Then, just as sudden as it had occured, the battle ended. Or rather, the two beings relocated to Space, where they would continue engaging in their conflict, the winner remaining undecided or unknown to those below.

The aftereffects of their confrontation was not only apparent on the devastated land, but the sky as well. The pressure exerted by their auras had pushed away the clouds.

Now air rolled in to fill up the space, more clouds gathered, looming dark and ominous over the torn and burning landscape.

Heavy rain fell soon after. As if the heavens sought to cool the scorched earth.

All that remained of their chaotic presence was two drops of blood, one red and one gold, which fell amidst the rain- roiling around one another in a continuation of their owner's heated rivalry.

Nature won out however, as the rain diluted both drops, bleeding out most of the inherent Will in each, until they were no different from any other drop of blood.

Tap!

The drops impacted the hard rock of a ravine. Keeping their original spherical forms, they rode down the stream of rain water as it descended into a gushing river which flowed down the mountain, towards the scarred jungle below.

The river presented a bigger challenge than the rain. In the churning water, both drops would be diluted to nothing.

Sensing this, the dregs of will left in each of the drops sought survival and joined up into one larger and deeper colored red blood drop with spots of gold around it.

[Merger Successful]

[2 Small Godly blood drops-> Godly Blood drop]

It was now the size of a grape and rode the surface of the violent water into an unknown destination.

Minutes turned into hours, yet the rain continued. And as it did, so too did the river swell in size, flooding the banks, and sweeping through the scorched remains of vegetation and animal life close by.

One of which happened to be the carcass of an Emperor Snake, a giant green colored magical beast with six horns on its head.

The Godly Blood drop was drawn to it's remains. Upon touching the Emperor Snake's flesh- exposed through torn skin, the whole carcass shrunk and dried up.

The flesh turned stringy, pale and bloodless while the bones became brittle and fragile.

[Unique Skill 'Blood Absorption' learned]

[Blood Absorption:- Can consume the blood of dead organisms for Nutrients and Growth. The user gains Blood Units and one Special Skill from the target]

[Skill gained:- Danger Sense](Passive)

[Danger Sense:- Enables the User perceive incoming threats]

Unfortunately the skill had been useless in the face of Gods, thus the Emperor Snake met an unfortunate demise.

Its remains were ripped apart by the river and the Godly Blood drop had a slight unnoticeable size increase.

Many hours later, the rain slowed down to a light shower and the Godly Blood drop found itself floating on a peaceful water surface.

The mountain was left far behind, and the land here teemed with life- having escaped destruction by being on the outskirts of the earthshaking battle.

The Godly Blood Drop found itself with nothing to do but follow the river aimlessly. It held no awareness, only possessing a strong Will to survive.

Had it had awareness, perhaps it would have avoided consuming the dead frog rotting on a log of a tree that had fallen in the river.

Alas, the Godly Blood drop needed blood to sustain its form, else the river would dilute it to nothing.

Without wasting time, it rolled across the water current towards the blood, it could instictively sense within its limited range.

Touching the frog's submerged leg, It used it's Unique skill [Blood Absorption] and consumed all of it's clotted blood, rotting and blackened Non-withstanding.

[Skill gained: Leap](Active)

[Leap:- Enables the User to jump high and long distances. Uses 5 blood units to activate]

The Frog's rotting corpse shrunk to a caricature of it's former self. The skin slouched off and the bones broke down into dust. The flies that were hovering above it flew away.

As for the Godly Blood drop, it increased in size yet again- still unnoticeable at a mere glance. It's color though, deepened to a red that was almost black. It also began giving off a rotten smell.

As a result, the flies that had been focused on the Frog's carcass were attracted.

Blissfully unaware, the Godly Blood drop continued riding down the river. A few seconds later, [Danger Sense] went off.

Not understanding the sudden immense feeling of dread, the Godly Blood Drop instead sensed it was coming from the sky at the back and in a desperate aim for survival, activated it's new skill [Leap]

From it's back, came a Pop! Sound. 5 units of its blood was expelled to produce an explosive force that launched the Godly Blood Drop into the air, moving at a speed that left the flies stunned.

The air was no new territory for the Godly Blood Drop. It remembered that what's goes up comes down, and that the ground was especially hard when coming down.

Once again, in a bid to survive, It instictively clenched, compressing it's liquid form into a harder and smaller form to avoid bursting apart on impact.

The peak of it's ascent slowed and it started falling towards the green jungle. Whiffing past leaves and branches, the hard ground never came.

Instead, The Godly Blood drop found itself captured in a Duke Hornet- Spider nest. A magical Beast.

The web was sticky and hard to wiggle out of, no matter how much the Godly Blood drop tried to struggle. Even a [Leap] activation did nothing to unstick it from the unexpected trap.

A shadow fell upon it and Danger Sense went haywire.

The Godly Blood Drop froze, an instict long forgotten in it's d.n.a where Prey appears dead by not moving, when faced with a deadly predator.

Standing on 8 long limbs, the Duke Hornet Spider was a nightmare to behold. Completely black, with 2 horns on its head and 3 pairs of yellow eyes, it was the size of a cat, staring down at the strange black-red Bead caught in its trap.

The Duke Hornet Spider whickered, it's sharp fangs dripping with a potent acidic venom while hovering above its captured prey.

Some of the venom fell on the Bead, causing a sizzling sound as it washed down It's outer surface.

A thin layer on the Bead was destroyed by the acid and the Godly Blood drop lost about a unit of its blood.

Nonetheless, survival instincts prevailed and the Godly Blood Drop stayed motionless, pretending to be nothing more than an unusually colored Bead.

The spider's leg poked It's surface, finding it to be as hard as rock. The ploy worked and the Duke Hornet Spider shivered in disappointment.

Dismissing the Bead as something unedible, It slashed the web around It and allowed the Godly Blood Drop to fall towards the ground.

[Unique Skill 'Blood Clot' learned](Active)

[Blood Clot:- Can compress blood into a substance as hard as a rock. Uses 5 blood units Activate]

After escaping from the Spider's deadly web, the Godly Blood Drop found itself rolling down a steep hill, bouncing off rocks and trees.

It kept [Blood Clot] on for defense the entire time. The skill consumed 5 units for each activation but could be kept on indefinitely afterwards.

A few minutes later, the hill evened out and the Godly Blood Drop came to a stop at the edges of a swamp.

For once, It ceased moving and sat below the shade of a tree contented. Moving was fraught with danger after all, It's survival instincts had observed.

The solution? To stay still!

Thus, it did, remaining stationary like a statue, till the morning sun reached the middle of the sky and the tree shade was gone- leaving It under the sun's glare. And even then, until it descended beyond the horizon, and darkness fell.

All the way until the next morning. Which is when the Godly Blood Drop finally moved. And not of its own accord.

Danger Sense forced it to react. But while before, It knew where the threat was coming from, this time the Threat came from within It's own bloody body.

[Foreign harmful Micro-Organisms detected]

Had it an understanding of science, the Godly Blood Drop would have known that swamps were a breeding area for Bacteria such as E.Coli. Bacteria that especially loved Blood.

And by remaining so close to said swamp for more than 12 hours, these Bacteria had invaded Its body, attracted to the scent of rotting blood.

It's survival Instincts had only shown It to run or hide, but now It would have to fight.

Author Note:-

After countless original ideas written and discarded this past month, I've finally decided to dip my toes in the monster evolution Fantasy Litrpg genre.

Lord help me.

This fic will be 50 chapters long, by which point I hope he's a vampire-mage hybrid or whatever the plot bunnies decide.

I will also be putting it on the 100 dollar Savage Gods tier 24 hours after release(please DON'T subscribe to that Tier just yet. Its only there to motivate to keep writing), I'll do the same to every subsequent chapter I post till I'm around chapter 25-30.

Another thing, Jon Kent will be up in a few hours, followed by Times Up, Joker. I'll also post an update schedule for tomorrow.

That said, I know many of my fics remain without updates.(Looking at you, Spiderman X, Son of the Savage and recently Fated Chaos too) The truth is, I lose interest when you guys lose interest. A poll will be up soon to decide what you want me to pick up.

And finally, Thanks for your support despite how Inactive I've been this month.

-Saint.

Comments

So I would prefer you not drop it before completion

Robert Brown

Much to my surprise I actually really enjoy fated chaos...... which I wasn't expecting since it revolves around Wanda in a sense.

Robert Brown

You've managed to stumble upon the very niche genre of power steal that I adore.
