Charmed Season 1 Episode 17

Definitely a fan favorite and one of the best of Season 1. So great to finally meet Grams and Patty. A lot of tear-jerking and touching moments for sure. Recommend you rewatch this one alone and take it all in without having to react. It's important that these relationships stay at the forefront of a first-time viewer's mind. The show is all about family, generations, and their matriarchy. It's also one of the most important episodes for the mythology of the show, as we finally find out why the girls suddenly got their powers out of nowhere in their mid-20s.

That's good to know cause they straight nailed it with the casting in this show so far

I mean i assumed Grams was powerful but she was scary strong and i don't think she was even tryibg when she threw them out of the house

Aww man this episode!! Grams and Patty aka Mom, they’re definitely fan favorites more so than the main cast tbh. Overall, their chemistry with the main cast aka Prue, Piper, and Phoebe is incredible and like you said the even the child actresses playing the younger versions of the sisters is legit too. They look like kid versions of the charmed ones. This is the start of Grams - Patty - Charmed Ones connections or interactions.

Fun fact the actresses who are playing Patty and Grams are really popular with the fans. I have read somewhere that they have received a lot of fan mail even more then the main characters. Such a good casting choice. You'll get to see a lot more from them. I absolutely loved this episode. A favorite of mine. It really gave a lot of background on the charmed family tree.
