Only thing I would suggest is to move the chat over so it doesn't block the show and distract.

The whole Lana wanting to be Clark’s equal because she felt like her being normal was holding him back or distracting him cuz he always wanted to protect her. Is so not what Clark needs at this moment, he doesn’t need another super power chick..he needs someone that will ground him and find the perfect balance in his life. Lana having powers has not made anything better, it makes things even more dangerous and vulnerable for their relationship tbh. And like always, even though Clark had some reservation with talking things out with Lana. He wanted to keep their relationship in the past, he still caved in last minute with the ideal that that they can make it work. Ughh he took a few steps forward in earlier episodes and now he took a couple more steps back. Well... that’s CLANA for you. I tend to skip these kinds of episode cuz it just makes me mad. 😂

This: Arc of Suck
A term used to refer to bad storylines in TV shows.
It is most often used in Smallville forums to refer to the Season 8 arc when Lana Lang returned to Smallville for a few episodes, during which time Lois was absent.

Are you trying to tell me that... Clark would still be exactly where he is now if he never met Lana? She had absolutely nothing to do with his overall journey to becoming Superman at all?

Lana is the worst that could ever happened to Clark, she turned him into her lapdog. No sight of superman, and one more time that was proved it in the AoS.
Lois turns Clark into a man, a hero. He changed this season until the AoS came in, and now here we are with a Clark that is totally focused in Lana and her BS, like a puppy.

I just dont like that in enforces that Lana can only be with Clark if she is his equal in ability is a bad look on her in my opinion so I never connected with her plot and was left feeling empty.

That may be YOUR opinion on her character, but it's not objectively bad development. By definition, "negative character development" is when a characters journey goes against who they are and what the story is trying to say about them. "Your plot should always be ingrained into your character’s development – every plot choice the character makes has rewards and consequences" (D.N. Bryn). A character doesn't have to be an entirely different person to be developed. Sometimes the point the writers are trying to get across is that some people don't change. Don't get me wrong, I believe Lana has definitely changed. She is way more mature and stronger (and a bit more bitter) than season 1. BUT since the writers were forced to do something with her this season when they clearly wanted to do something else, I'm willing to bet that they knew it was too late to fully redeem her character flaws so being smart screenwriters they used what her character had at the moment and took it into a new realm that is still consistent with how her character has been for a while. If you're going to go completely evolve a character, it has to be believable. If they did try and completely revert her back to the sweet Lana everyone liked, would you (Lana haters who have already made up your minds about her) believe it? I understand you may not like what her character became but I'm guessing you had no problem buying it.

Tess's subplot was the only good part about this episode. Lana's arc of being super-powered is an example of bad character development.

During the reaction, people in the chat kept trying to argue with me about how horrible this episode was and tried to speak on behalf of the entire SV fandom (when they aren't the whole SV fandom) when I said I enjoyed it. I guarantee you the only reason why that is is because of more Clana. Everything else involving Lana (not Clark oriented) and the flashbacks were fascinating.
