If there’s anyone here who had watched The vampire diaries, the tess’s assistent is Jena!!! I never realized before since I watched TVD after smallville! so we have stefan (lucas luthor), damon (adam night) and now jena!!! Devin please react to TVD after smallville. is an aweosme show.

As you learned in this episode, everybody like Tess as well as the league believes that Lex is still out there somewhere.. lex’s body was never found which means he should still be alive and knows Clark’s secret. So believe it or not, even when Lex is off the grid..he still is a threat and dangerous especially to Clark. Remember...Lex is a Luthor...they have a bunch of connections and or plan b, c, d, e, f and etc if plan a doesn’t work. Also, yep it’s true during this time a lot of the fans/viewers knew that Michael’s contract expired after season 7, which is also the same thing with Kristin (Lana). That’s why there is 2 new characters in Season 8 and Justin (Oliver) is now part of the main cast. Also, YES it is needed for Clark to move on from his past aka his high school life, his mistakes, his pain, his loss, and yes his first love Lana. He had to accept that he can’t keep holding on to that part of his life. There are other loved ones and basically the whole world that needs protection from the bad/evil in this world. Also, I mean the show is still called SMALLVILLE. His farm and of course the memories and lessons he learned there will still be there for him. He still supposedly lives in Smallville, but he now works in Metropolis as an intern for the Daily Planet. Which is a step in the right direction for him tbh! Of course it’s exciting because more CLOIS! Did you catch the part when Clark just was smiling and teasing Lois?? Don’t we love a smiley and snarky Clark? I do! Also the part when he said.. “I’m going to be a little closer to HOME. Looks like we’re going to be NEIGHBORS, Lane. “ that’s such a double meaning and also a great call back to when Lois lived with the Kents in season 4. Yup when brainiac tried to take over Chloe...her healing powers disappeared and she basically became even more of a human computer. But YES.. this season will feel entirely NEW to you because there is new characters that will bring some interesting dynamics as well as storylines. They make you want to know more about them and how they ended up where they are in Metropolis. Also, didn’t I tell you that there will be more gorgeous women?? Yes Tess is one fiery beautiful woman. You’ll find out some things about her in upcoming episodes. Again.. REMEMBER... she was a regional VP for Lex...and as she said Lex appointed her the position of CEO of LuthorCorp. That means...Lex has trust or at least believe that Tess is more than qualified to take over his position. Put that thought in your head..again..Lex always has back up plans..he’s slick like that.

Tess Mercer is an original character that's a combination of Eve Teschmacher (Lex's lady friend from the Christopher Reeve Superman movies) and Mercy Graves (Total badass and Lex's right hand from the Superman animated series). She is Harley Quinn to Lex's Joker and takes his place in the show, cause as people have said he left. Very different show going forward, buts it's for the better. Time to shake things up!! Thanks bro, with ya till the end!! Let's goooo!!

Michael/Lex is gone unfortunately. Not a spoiler, because we all knew that at the time. It's much easier to know that in order to watch the show now, otherwise you'll be wondering all the time where the hell he is. Kristin/Lana is also gone from the credits, because she's... well, gone. No more John Glover/Lionel either obviously. Big changes.

Not to bring you down, but you won't see Michael for a relatively long time.

Let's just say that the reason Michael isn't a series regular anymore (why he wasn't in the intro) is because his contract expired after season 7. That's not a spoiler because it wasn't a secret. Even when the show was airing people knew that.

I am about to watch your reaction but congratulations to making it this far in such a short amount of time. You are in for the next stage of Smallville and I truly hope you enjoy it. It's always interesting to see everyone's reaction when we get to this season. Smallville has like 3 different era's in a way. lol You got the season 1-4 High School era, season 5-7 College Years/ Growing Up era, and season 8-10... you shall see. I can't wait to see how you feel about so many storylines going forward.
