Smallville Season 5 Episode 6 Reaction "EXPOSED"

Comments

Also, a bit of trivia: "Exposed" is the first episode in series history to not have Lana in it. Wish that happened more often... :P

There's no such thing as a "local senate." It is the upper chamber of the U.S. Congress. Most people do not become president out of nowhere/without previously held offices, such as a U.S. Senator or a mayor (save for the current U.S. President, but we know how that all worked out). The whole point of the Senate race arc is to not only foreshadow Lex's seat in the Presidential office, but to tease the gradual (and usual) track to becoming a U.S. President.

Here's why you should root for Jonathan: Putting Lex's immorality aside, we know he's destined to be president someday. So who cares if he loses a local senate. This way if Jonathan won and Lex became president later on, you don't have to worry about picking sides. They both win.

The focus on the Jonathan/Jack Jennings thing was because it was a Dukes of Hazzard reunion between the two actors. Clark and Jonathan's view of Lex is completely justified at this point. Not sure how you can keep calling them the assholes when Lex literally had Clark, Lana and the Kents kidnapped, beaten up, and put in extreme danger JUST to test whatever theory he has about Clark. Lex is not entitled to truths that aren't his to have, and definitely not to put people's lives at risk just to soothe his curiosity. I think you've forgotten about a lot of the fucked up, shitty things Lex has done that would be unforgivable by most standards. All Clark and Jonathan have done is react justifiably to those things. Anyways, haha, next couple of episodes are amazing! :)
