lucas was originally thinking about quitting baseball, thinking he wasn’t good enough. He was slowly spiraling down further into his depression, and ole Thomas noticed something was off during one of their first practices. Thomas went to go find him on campus to get to know him/see if anything was wrong when the phone incident happened. Thomas comes from a super wealthy family, vs Lucas who got scholarships to go to college.
Thomas really helped Lucas out a lot from there on. And you bet that Lucas fell for Thomas *hard* from that day
