Check page 200, Ferah, Roamer, Rogio and Kargo arrived at the same bog the Bayou lives in. All of them except Ferah were too skittish to cross the bog because of the warning signs put up, and the intimidating look of it. As mentioned on this page, the intimidating look of the territory stops most travelers from approaching. Just because they are considered a new breed, doesn't mean they have to have started from nothing. They all came from somewhere, and considering their well put together tribe and territory, they must have learned it from previous tribes. The breed was formed out of interbreeding between other breeds, the parents of this breed could have been in other tribes which taught them the necessary skills. They could have relocated after that, bred within this family and formed the Bayou we have here.

So no one has seen these dogs but somehow they live the same tribe/paint/rank society as everyone else? It feels like at least someone would've seen this new breed? I get Jahla not knowing about Rome's breed due to not really mingling with other packs on Earth outside of Asmundr Pack but...there should've been a lot more talk or mention of dogs that live in water, no? owo

What's the point of the droopy ears on this breed? They use sonar for catching fish?
