Tell me your woes
Added 2022-10-10 16:03:36 +0000 UTCGreetings world builders!
I wanted to ask you a question today -
What is your pain point?
Some of you have been around for years now, some of you joined just today, but something unites us all in this wonderful hobby - battle maps.
We love to unveil that beautiful, complex, mansion, the terrifying dungeon, that haunted forest. Watching our players enjoy those environments, cooked up in our minds, in uncomarable to anything else.
What I want to know from you guys, is -
How can Moonlight Maps make your lives easier/better/more fulfilled? (I know this answer will be different for a lot of you, but I'm curious). Why are you here? How can I save you more time? Are you looking to impress your players more? Do you want me to make assrts so you can customise your maps more? Do you want more specialised maps? A better search/library solution? Releases less often, or more?
I want to find out how I can be a better service, and you, my friends, are the oracle :)
I'll go through every answer in time, so feel free to open your mind in the comments below, my inbox, or the discord server.
Happy gaming!

Great views, thank you Nigel. I'm definitely trying to find that balance. Those locations you mentioned are maps that I have, but I'll certainly line more of those up +I just released another camp site yesterday actually). I've been thinking of ways to utilise searching in My Air Bridge, I think the best way might be to number each map pack so new packs add to the end of the folder. If you have any maps you'd like to see soon, do let me know :)

2022-10-25 08:31:14 +0000 UTCLove your work, but I do have two pain points: 1. Searching for stuff I haven't already downloaded is a real pain. Just the ability to sort it by release date would be a huge quality of life improvement! 2. I find that most of these maps are good for one-off uses - there's very little here that I take and incorporate into my campaigns permanently. A large part of this, I think, is that you're always going for novelty over utility in the maps... I may set a fight in my campaign on a random body-part of a titan once every campaign (if that), but I have fights in taverns, cul-de-sacs, city streets, farmhouses, camp sites and mansions of the rich-and-famous every other week. I mostly have to do those myself... which leaves this service as more of a luxury than a necessity. I think this is echoing some of the sentiments above - boring settings really beautifully executed would be excellent!

2022-10-24 08:10:31 +0000 UTCMy preference would be multiple maps that combine to make one whole, or one really massive map. Some of your maps are already large enough that within the Dynamic Dungeons editor I can right click and scroll, showing additional edges of the map. This has my players thinking outside the box, as sometimes they struggle to imagine that the world continues on past the edges of the screen. More recently I've even had them retreat to a different map to draw creatures into an ambush - so you have my thanks for that! The concept of different sections of the same dungeon, city, castle, etc. piques my interest for sure. I imagine it might allow for you to reuse some assets but at the same time I assume making some ungodly large image to match this concept would be a pain lol. Let me know what you think!
