6/21/18 and 1 Day Delay
Added 2018-06-21 18:48:55 +0000 UTCHi everyone. Sorry if I got your hopes up when you saw an email, notification, or something else thinking the demo was done. When I started going over the menu systems and making sure everything worked, I discovered some progress was lost that I couldn't explain. Some of you might have remembered a few posts ago that I did showed a new system comparing the stats of equipment in your inventory with what you have equipped, and it showed that change if you were to equip the item selected. While looking over the inventory, I noticed that the text-box objects that would have shown those values were gone, along with the code that made them work in the first place. Unfortunately, that led to a string of other things I noticed were missing in the menu system, including navigation not working between screens, the player model not showing equipment in the pause menu correctly, and items not being shown in your inventory. How this happened I have no idea. The fact that it was something I worked on so long ago that was missing was also annoying because I have no way of telling what is or isn't complete any more aside from testing and probing.
I've spent all of today since I woke up trying to redo what was lost, and I should be done by the end of the day. However, that was still a whole day of work that couldn't be done to prepare the demo for release, so I'll have to push back my deadline by a day. All of that aside, I'm still on track to get the demo out on the 23rd as long as I don't have any other surprises along the way.
