(5/25/18) Day 3 and Female Character Sprite
Added 2018-05-26 01:47:13 +0000 UTCYo! After a minor setback, I ended up having to reformat most of the tiles again, although in a much easier and less time consuming manner. You can see the fruits of those labors above, where I have the first framework of Maria's house done. You can see the itty bitty Maria sprite as well, which I crafted up using the character generator of RPGMaker and inserted her frames into a character for the game already.
The second half of my work today went toward the character sprite of the female MC. I used some parts from the generator as a base and edited the colors and added more details to make it closer to the portrait art I showed off a while back. I think it's definitely one of the best pieces of pixel art I've done, even if most of it was pre-made. Tomorrow I'll make the male character sprite, and insert both into the game along with a variable that lets the game distinguish your gender for gameplay purposes (the variable that determines what character you use, the portrait that appears on speech, and the shape of the butt that appears if you are spanked, etc.)

I said at the first post of my Summer vacation that I think I could get a playable demo out in a month from then (about 22nd of June). Upon further reflection at the pace I'm going, that could come even sooner. It's hard to say, however.

2018-05-26 12:14:39 +0000 UTCI mentioned a few posts ago that I plan on releasing a demo of the new system focused on the first town of SQI with updated content from that game instead of retreading my steps in Tungsten Town for the 3rd time and you all playing through mostly the same scenes. But yes, the games SQI and SQII take place in the same world, just separated by time and space.

2018-05-26 04:47:21 +0000 UTCHmm. Now I'm confused. Maria is from the original Spankquest and SQ Deluxe. Are you borrowing some of your old characters for the new game? Not that I would mind, mind you...I suppose the original game could be a part of the bigger SQ2 world after all and so somewhere on the map we haven't seen yet...
