So idk if you will read this at this point but I thought I'd point something out I didn't see in another comment! Conny's joke that just doesn't make sense in the subtitles is actually just a terrible pun in Japanese. When he's saying "Eren's house...", in Japanese he's pronouncing it "Eren ie ga..." and he starts laughing because it sounds like "Eren Jaeger". But yeah we all cope with trauma and witnessing horrific events differently, and Conny's evidently is cracking terrible jokes.

Erwin really is one of the greatest fictional leaders ever written Some leader characters we are just told they are great, and yet the writing doesn't fully show us how and why Erwin, from the moment of his introduction has proven time and time again that he is beyond just great A truly iconic speech and I'm glad I got to rewatch it alongside you!
