You were right, the girl is the vessel and she will essentially merge with Tengen so his body doesn’t evolve, Geto and Gojo just have to protect her and escort her to Tengen

It’s okay to be confused, you seem to have followed the main points you need to follow. That girl is the star plasma vessel, gojo and geto are protecting her until she “assimilates” with that tengen guy (who you don’t know yet), and there are two groups going after the the vessel. This is all more clear as you keep watching so don’t worry

I haven't seen the second season either and am a bit confused, but I trust that in the coming episodes things will start making more sense. It would suck if someone in the comments spoiled something just because they came to a conclusion an episode before I did (just as an example).

So this is another prequel but it’s based in before the movie gojo and geto backstory and when they were students if that makes sense
