The young woman shook her head, cheeks red. She didn't know why she was so taken aback and surprised. Ponies were everywhere. In fact, if she looked ahead and out onto the beach, she could see a bunch of them on the beach right now, enjoying the sun. Maybe because that farm pony was so attractive? Possibly.
Either way, Molly really should've been used to it. A year has passed since the big pony epidemic began. A mysterious app began appearing on people's phones. Anyone who used it became anthropomorphic versions of the characters from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. It caused a frenzy, panic across the globe at first.
Now? Things have settled considerably. The app still remained on just about everyone's phones, but most have gotten around it in their own ways. Most have gotten used to seeing the Skittle-colored equines on the streets, in businesses, or amongst their families and friends. They were just another part of life nowadays.
The biggest concern at the time was the fear of permanency: people stuck as ponies forever regardless about how the changees felt. However, for reasons yet to be discovered by scientists, some people have changed back, seemingly at random.
Molly was one of those people. One day she was a pony, then the next she wasn't. Her memories of it were a blur, her mind and reality having been bent backwards and all around. However, she was able to slip back into her life and routine without issue. It was the absolute strangest thing.
Molly took a deep breath and relaxed, putting that pony past behind her and choosing not to focus on the “pony” present, but the human one. She continued down the steps. She wanted to enjoy that day, get a nice tan, go for a swim, rest her airy head, all of that.
Perhaps she would even do a little flirting and teasing. There were plenty of cute boys on the beach that she could already see. It would be fun to hit them up and work a little magic.
It had been a while since she’d done or even wanted to do that. As a classic, very busty, stereotypical blonde, the attention she had gotten in the past was suffocating. Most outings and parties she went to were most of the time drowned in an aggressively overwhelming focus and desire for her that it drove her nuts.
Nowadays, things have changed. Most were into cute or handsome ponies, all eyes on them now. As such, she could feel comfortable with seeking attention on her own terms.
After leaving the stairs and walking down the shoreline, Molly found her perfect spot. It was a nice open area that somehow hadn't been taken yet. Not too far or too close to the water and a large, free open parasol was already set up. Things were really looking up for her!
Molly dropped her bag and pulled out her beach blanket, unrolling it beneath the umbrella. She hummed pleasantly, taking a seat on it. Time to start this perfect day!
She reached into her bag again, feeling around on the bottom. Now, where's the sunblock at? Gotta use-
As she reached around, a shadow passed over her. She looked up from her bag. A pleasant, warm shiver ran up her spine, her heart beating faster.
Another pony woman had passed. This one had white fur with an elegant dark blue mane and tail. She was fairly tone and fit, though nowhere as muscular as the red mare from before. She wore a more covering one-piece swimsuit, though her curves certainly still popped out in such an incredible manner.
However, what drew Molly in the longest was the cutiemark. It was a purple shield with a pink sparkle in its center, three light blue stars hanging above the shield.
The pony never looked Molly's way as she passed. She merely slowed down for a moment to glance out at the water to her right, brushing her short, stylish mane to the side before continuing on without a care.
It was more than enough to light up Molly. It's… it's her. Molly's heart fluttered. She's here?! I haven't seen her since… since… oh man!
She was a pony called Gleaming Shield, a mare that she had met during her pony days. Even if most of her memories were a blur, she would not forget Shield. Shield was very cute, very sweet, very kind, and so very warm, very affectionate… and very special in bed.
