Sean felt goosebumps on his arms as a curious figure approached, one that made him anxious, but excited. “Welcome to our special sale,” chimed a green woman in round glasses, “We have tons of great, MAGICAL items and whatnots around here that no normal human gets to see, let alone buy. Take a look around and see what dream trinket you can go home with!”
The man stood in the center of a large front yard in front of an old, suspiciously haunted-looking estate during a yard sale. Around him were sleeves, tables, and laid out blankets full of various oddities and mundane items. The people hawking these goods were what really jumped out at him, a coven of pretty, green witches.
It was the annual neighborhood garage sale in town and everyone in the neighborhood got together to sell all at once. The biggest highlight though was the magical ladies in the center of the suburb, who sold their used magical trinkets, items, or whatever various items they held in their possession.
The short-haired man nodded, smiling and blushing softly. “Y-yeah,” he mumbled, “Already way ahead of you.”
The witch smiled herself, adjusting her glasses before going to help someone else. Sean turned from her to the other things on sale. So many curious items all around him from used cauldrons to potions to odd dresses to even broomsticks (though most had signs that read, ‘Not Safe to Fly’).
He walked around a bit, thinking, gees… all of this stuff… it’s so neat, but I don’t think I could really afford any of this. It’s all so expens-
“Watch it there!” Sean flinched and jumped back just as his reflection crossed his eyes. Though, it wasn’t from his mirror, but from a large, incredibly polished armor chestplate. A tall witch with light green skin and long black hair was carrying it over to a table in front of him, setting it down there.
“O-o-oh, s-sorry!” Sean remarked, stuttering a bit. She was the prettiest one of the group, though her piercing yellow eyes made her a little intimidating.
“It’s fine,” she remarked, “Just had to get this out here. Got it from our resident brony’s closet and she wasn’t using it anymore.”
“Was is it?”
“Oh just a piece of armor to test spells on. Polish spells, color changing, rust prevention, all that jazz. Magic isn’t always glamorous. Sometimes mundane spells, enchantments, and potions are all that people want really and we like practicing on all kinds of material.”
She looked at him curiously before smirking. “Why? Was someone looking to start building their own suit of armor?”
Sean blushed, shaking his head. “No. I was just curious is all. Probably way too expensive for me anyways. Probably couldn’t even afford to try it on too.”
The witch chuckled, picking up the armor plate, “Nonsense! You can try it on if you want to. Nothing wrong with a little test.”
“R-really, it’s okay… Miss…?”
“Beatrice! Here you go! Give it a try!” The green woman shoved it into the brown-haired man’s arms with a hard shove, nearly causing him to fall back.
