マッターホルンを拝めるゴルナーグラート登山鉄道へ向けて出発です。

旅程

３日目　グリンデルワルド（→インターラーケン）→ツェルマット（マッターホルン麓）→ゴルナーグラート→宿

４日目　グリンデルワルド（→インターラーケン）→ベルン→チューリヒ→空港

インターラーケンはルツェルン、グリンデルワルド、ベルン方面の中継駅になるので待ち時間で散歩していた感じです。

氷河が解けた水は上流では乳白色で、下流に行くにつれて青々とした美しい色になり、湖の青い風景はスイスならではの風景の一つかなとも思えます。

インターラーケンは名前の通りで湖の間にありその風景を見ることができます！

青い！

無理に散歩したので電車に間に合わなくなりそうになり駅へダッシュで戻り何とか搭乗。

乗り換えになりますがマッターホルンのふもとであるツェルマットへ向かいます。

（途中電車を乗り間違えたらしい高齢の日本人夫婦とやり取りしたのも良い思い出。駅どうしが遠いのでまあ大変です）

山岳に入ると電車の途中も風景は最高でした。

ツェルマットについたら目の前にゴルナーグラート鉄道の駅があります。突撃～！

登山鉄道に乗ったらすぐにマッターホルンが見え始めます。

途中駅もいくつかありますがユングフラウの時と計画は同じなので、頂上のゴルナーグラート駅まで登ります。

そこからハイキングコースで途中駅まで下山する楽ちんハイク！

そうして頂上。

もう絶景です。

駅にはショップ、レストランや展示などがあり教会まであります。

６７年マッターホルン登山の歴史上で初めて女性パーティで登頂した日本人の方の紹介などもあり驚きました。

展望まで上がるとマッターホルンとは反対側に氷河が一面に広がっています。

この風景で昼食（サンドイッチ）という贅沢ををとってからいざ、ハイキングです。

この風景は本当に天気に恵まれてよかったなと心から思ったのを覚えてます。

美しすぎました・・・ここまで風景で感動することに自分でも驚きましたが予想以上だったのは確かです。

クライネ・シャイデックの緑緑とした風景ではなく岩場と氷河が見える夏の風景はまた違った良さがありました。

犬も感動・・・？

写真で見えている路線沿いに池を通って降りていきます。

その池の場所にも駅があり、ある写真を撮るために多くの人が下りるみたいです。

それが逆さマッターホルン。

・・・風があってうまく撮れませんでした。

このあたりで休憩をしたり、本を読んでいる人もいたりとこれが日常の人たちも凄いなとちょっと思ったのを覚えています。

岩場や氷河のエリアから降りてきて緑のエリアがまた風も気持ちよく、全体で３時間ほどのハイキングだったかなと思うのですが下に目的の駅が見え始めました。

そこからツェルマットへ戻ります。

今思えばここで一泊して夕日のマッターホルン、夜のツェルマットを見るのが良かったなーとか思ったりもしますが、拠点のグリンデルワルドに戻り３日目も終わりとなりました。

４日目ベルンはスイスの首都になります。（チューリヒとかジュネーブとかのイメージがあったけど違います！）

ベルンを象徴するものといえばこの時計塔。

首都といえば都会だろうというイメージでいたらかなり古い町並みで、赤い屋根が並び高低差のある川沿いの町は中世の雰囲気も残し歩いていてちょうどいい広さの観光地でした。

教会の塔の上から見る風景は街を一望できて壮観。

（登るのはめっちゃ疲れます）

午後までゆっくりと見て回る時間があり、ずっと大自然のハイキングだったのが町の観光だ～って感じがして良かったですね。

最後はチューリヒ。

飛行機までのつなぎの時間というのもあり、チューリヒは高級ブランド街の時計などを見るのも良いのですが都市部はあまり自分は興味がなくて散歩程度になります。

でも中でも面白かったのは公園でチェスをしているおじさんたちや高低差のある古いエリアや裏路地、湖沿い当たりの雰囲気。

ゆったりしていてそんなに人が忙しそうにしていないような印象でした。

大自然から街まで目まぐるしく最高に濃い４日間。

私の旅行の中でも最も感動した風景の旅になりました！

このスイス旅行で思ったのは、もしもっと効率よくしたいならこの中継地点のインターラーケンに宿をとるのもいいということ。

（それでも時間と電車代がちょっとかかりましたがグリンデルワルドに泊まってよかったと思っています。毎日重い荷物と移動するのは勘弁なのでうまく中継拠点を作るのがおススメです）

大まかな電車のルートはこんな感じでインターラーケンが中継になります。

スイスは他の国に比べ電車料金がとても高い（特に登山列車は高い）ので計画的にしたほうが良いのは確かですね。

４日間の旅行で私は主に登山鉄道を使うのでハーフフェアカードという電車料金がすべて半額になるパスを購入してました。

美術館や博物館巡りのトラベルパスもあったと思いますが、最も出費の大きい登山鉄道の割引率が低かったりで今回の旅には合わないので同じような旅の方はハーフフェアカードをお勧めします！

Photo Sample Travel notes Switzerland vol.2

This is a continuation of the first part.

We are leaving for the Gornergrat mountain railway, where we can see the Matterhorn.

Itinerary

Day 3 Grindelwald (→ Interlaken) → Zermatt (at the foot of the Matterhorn) → Gornergrat → accommodation

Day 4 Grindelwald (→ Interlaken) → Bern → Zurich → airport

Interlaken is a transit station for Lucerne, Grindelwald and Bern, so it was like a walk in waiting.

The water from the melting glaciers is milky white upstream, and as it goes downstream, it becomes a beautiful blue colour, and the blue scenery of the lake is one of the unique Swiss landscapes.

Interlaken, as the name suggests, is among the lakes, and you can see that landscape!

I almost missed the train because of my forced walk, so I dashed back to the station and managed to board.

We had to change trains, but we headed for Zermatt at the foot of the Matterhorn.

(I remember an elderly Japanese couple who seemed to have taken the wrong train on the way. (It's a long way from one station to the other, so it's not easy).

Once in the mountains, the scenery on the train was fantastic.

When you arrive in Zermatt, the Gornergrat railway station is right in front of you.

As soon as you get on the mountain railway, you start to see the Matterhorn.

There are several intermediate stations, but the plan is the same as in the Jungfrau, so you climb up to the Gornergrat station at the top.

From there it's an easy hike down to the halfway station on a hiking trail!

And then the summit.

The view is spectacular.

The station has shops, restaurants, exhibitions and even a church.

There is also an introduction to a Japanese woman who was the first female party to climb the Matterhorn in 67 years.

When you go up to the viewpoint, you can see the glacier on the opposite side of the Matterhorn.

We had the luxury of lunch (sandwiches) in this landscape, and then it was time to go hiking.

I remember thinking how lucky we really were to have good weather for this scenery.

It was so beautiful... I was surprised to find myself so impressed by the scenery, but it was certainly more than I had expected.

The summer landscape with its rocky terrain and glaciers was different from the lush green landscape of Kleine Scheidegg.

Even the dogs were impressed...?

The train goes down through a pond along the line you can see in the picture.

There is also a station at the location of that pond, and it seems a lot of people go down there to take certain pictures.

That is the Matterhorn upside down.

...I couldn't get a good shot because of the wind.

I remember thinking a little bit that this is great for everyday people too, as some people were taking a break or reading a book in this area.

After coming down from the rocky and glacier area, the green area was nice and breezy again, and I think the whole hike took about three hours, but I started to see the destination station below.

From there, we returned to Zermatt.

Looking back, it would have been nice to stay here overnight and see the Matterhorn at sunset and Zermatt at night, but we returned to our base in Grindelwald and that was the end of the third day.

Day 4 Bern is the capital of Switzerland. (I had an image of Zurich or Geneva, but no!)

The clock tower is the symbol of Bern.

I thought the capital would be a big city, but the town is quite old, with red roofs and a riverbank with a difference in elevation.

We had time to look around slowly until the afternoon, and the fact that we were hiking in the wilderness the whole time was good because it felt like we were sightseeing in the town.

The last stop was Zurich.

I had time to see the luxury brand watches in Zurich, but I wasn't interested in the city area, so I just walked around.

But the most interesting things were the men playing chess in the park, and the atmosphere in the old areas with the elevation differences, the back alleys and along the lakeside.

I had the impression that it was relaxed and people didn't seem so busy.

It was the most intense four days, from the wilderness to the city.

It was one of the most inspiring and scenic trips I've ever been on!

I thought that if you want to be more efficient on this trip to Switzerland, you could stay in Interlaken at this stopover point.

(I'm still glad I stayed in Grindelwald, even though it cost me a bit of time and money for the train. (I don't want to travel with heavy luggage every day, so it's recommended to make a good relay point).

The train route is roughly like this, with Interlaken as a relay point.

Train fares are very expensive in Switzerland compared to other countries (especially for mountain trains), so it is certainly better to plan ahead.

On my four-day trip, I mainly used the mountain railways, so I bought a Half Fair Card, which is a pass that gives you half-price on all train fares.

I think there was also a travel pass for museum tours, but it didn't suit this trip because of the low discount rate on the mountain railways, which is the biggest expense, so I'd recommend the Half Fair Card for similar journeys!
