So now that I've gotten the next Expanding Alchemist update out, I'm now going to be putting that project on hold and I will now focus on getting Bloom War done. I'd also like to explain what my plans for Bloom War are, since I plan on cutting some things to make the project more manageable. First, I plan to get rid of the "Map" parts of the game. Those parts were initially going to allow for many different paths, but as of now they are basically linear anyway, so I don't think they serve any purpose besides adding unnecessary complexity. I also plan to cut the paths I had planned for some of the side characters like Wendy, Roxanne, and the cop girls, so I can focus more on the main girls like Kammy, Jayne, and Sarah. As for what routes I will work on next, I think I'll try to get the shrink and normal routes caught up to the growth route in the main story. I also think I will try to get Bloom War updates done every 2 months, with short story updates in between.
As for what comes after Bloom War, I'd like to focus on increasing the quality of my work. I've mostly been using the default Ren'py UI and assets for all my work, and I'd like to start adding more custom stuff. As well as making more higher quality animations, story writing, and even adding more sound and maybe even adding voices to the characters. I'm also going to try to limit the scope of my projects more since Bloom War and even TEA ended up getting too big to handle. This latest update for TEA has shown me that the way I wanted to do that game probably isn't going to work due to all the complexity I've already added and how much more I'd need to add, so I'm probably going to need to do a rework for it. I've learned a lot from these two projects, but with Bloom War I went too far in the scale and with TEA I went too far with the complexity, and it has caused both the quality to decrease, as well as causing some pretty bad burnout. So for future main projects, I'm going to try to focus more on quality rather than quantity.
But anyway, I'm starting get my motivation back, so I'm gonna try working harder and getting more done. This year's been pretty rough for me, but I'm looking forward to making next year a better one.
