Ch: 15 [Journal]

Next morning...

I woke up early to find Lia's arms wrapped around my torso. We were sleeping on our sides.

I turned around and looked at her face, peaceful and beautiful, like an angel. She must have been dreaming, her lips were slightly open, her brows relaxed, a smile on her face.

I brushed her hair from her face with my finger. She's so cute, so beautiful. But looks can be deceiving in this wasteland. Let's look around her room and see if she really is who she says she is.

I pulled myself away from her arms. I sat on the edge of the bed, my bare feet touching the cold marble floor. It felt good after sleeping naked. I looked around her room, there were a couple of blunt weapons, two machetes, which must be the killing tool. There were several leather belts with pouches on them. There was a long leather strap that was fastened with a hook, there was also a pair of leather gloves and a knife holster. Three handguns, two shotguns, an assault rifle, and a box filled with bullets.

It's just the typical weapons that more or less every wastelanders has. There was also a first aid kit, a couple of stimpacks and cigarettes, and a few pairs of footwear, sneakers, and boots. She had some bottles of water, cans of food, and a couple of bags of potato crisps. Oh, and not to forget a cupboard of vodka and whisky.

It looked like the typical armory in Fallout. It's no surprise that Lia has this many weapons, considering that she is an extra guard of the Ner Haven patrol team.

My eyes fell on the big bag under the bed, which was filled with sex toys: dildos, vibrators, and clamps, which were arranged neatly, and next to it, there was a dominatrix suit. It looked like she really enjoys dominating the girls and fucking them hard. I put everything back like it was before. Then I shifted my attention toward the small desk stacked with a couple of old books.

I picked up a leather-bound journal, opened it, and began to read.

Oh, she keeps a journal? Well, this will help me to figure her out.

I got back home from my day shift guarding the base, I was so tired that I immediately took a shower and went to bed.

I got a phone call from Jacob saying that there is a mutiny on the base and he was asking for help from the guards, he said that he needs a big group of guys to help him stop it, he said that it's a whole bunch of armed wastelanders and they are heading to the base. He said that if we can't stop them, they will overthrow the base.

Today, the wastelanders attacked the base. They have occupied the base, and they have killed a lot of people. But thanks to Jacob and the rest of the team, we managed to stop them. We lost a few people and many of the residents were wounded or killed.

The mutineers have been caught and executed. Many residents were killed by the mutineers. They were killed on the spot or tortured and executed in the base. The executions were done by using a flamethrower. Those bastards screamed a lot before they died. There are still a lot of dead bodies and pools of blood left in the base. It's really messy, it'll take a lot of time to clean up the blood and bodies.

It's been three days since the execution and the clean-up. Too much blood has been spilled, it will take a long time before it can be washed off.

But now, the base is peaceful. The residents have returned to the base. The New Haven patrol team is working again. There's no more tension or hostility.

And I am back again doing the same old patrolling...

I have not gone on a patrol for two days. Can't sleep at night. Nightmares. Those bastards were so strong, they were so scary. They were so vicious, killing people like they were just mere insects. I was so scared, I can feel their hot breath in my face, I can see their eyes, those horrible red glowing eyes, staring right through me, those big, sharp teeth... They looked like mutants. I don't think I can ever forget what happened that night. It was the scariest thing that has ever happened to me. I was so afraid of them, I can still feel the fear of the dead eyes, those sharp, scary teeth, their blood-curdling screams... It was so scary!

The other day, Jacob told me to go on patrol, to get my mind off of what happened. He said that it'll help me to get over my trauma.

Today, I saw a man being killed. I didn't know him, he was a new resident who just moved in this morning. He turns out to be a synth. Those damn machines! I hate them! How dare they! The synths are the worst, they are the monsters who killed so many people and took their places.

I remember Jacob telling me that the synths are the creations of the scientists, those scientists created those things to do their dirty jobs. They infiltrate in the guise of humans and kill people and destroy the base, while those other robots are doing their own jobs, acting as the human beings.

It's been a while since I sat down to write. Truth be told, we have a crisis at our hands. Someone poisoned the settlement's water supply and spread it across the entire base. And of all people, it was a guy named Ulysses, an old man who had come in to trade. He poisoned the water, so the water from our cisterns has gone bad, it's a matter of time before it starts to spread throughout the entire base.

After a long hard work, we finally found an underground water source, the water was pure and untainted, so we can use it to get rid of the bad water in the cisterns. We have a lot of water now and we can survive without the water supply. We will be fine for a while.

And they executed the old Ulysses by forcing him to drink his own poisoned water. They buried him in a hole full of the bad water.

And I went on a patrol today...

I received an order from Jacob that I have to patrol the sewer system under the base. Can you believe it? There are a bunch of dead bodies buried down there, not to mention all the creepy-looking ghouls and roaming molerats. The water in the sewer system has a really bad smell, and there's even an occasional, disturbing sound. It's really scary, it feels like it's watching me, the way it crawls through the dark.

Luckily, my team and I survived the patrol. There are a few more patrols scheduled, but we all agreed that we want to get the hell out of the sewers, as soon as possible.

I made a great discovery today, I met a girl named Lina today at the bar. She is one of the new recruits of the New Haven patrol team. She's not like the others, she's a little bit different. She is really cute, she has this smile that is really nice and comforting, my heart is tingling.

Today, Lina and I went on our first patrol together, we're an awesome team. I, as her superior officer showed her around and taught her some important things.

It's been a while, but here I am again. Lina... She's really good at her job. Today we agreed to meet at the Raptor's Inn for dinner. It's like a date! And we had a great time. She's so beautiful and charming. I have never seen someone this lovely.

We kissed after dinner and it was wonderful, her lips are so soft and warm. She's so beautiful. Haha. Can't believe I am in love with her.

Oh, girl... With the change of a new mayor, things had been too busy. And on top of that, there is a new settlement a few km away from our settlement. They had been creating quite a ruckus. Must be those Raiders disguising themselves as wastelanders, looting, murdering, and raping people. The wasteland is a dangerous place. Damn, I hate it.

Jacob. It's Jacob. I found his favorite coin and his ring in the place where I found Lina. He's the one who raped and killed her. I tracked him down, I found him, and I killed him. I found a letter in his pocket. It was the new mayor. That old motherfucking bastard. I am gonna kill him. How dare he take my love away from me?

I went and threw a couple of grenades into his room at night and ran. A massive explosion occurred. That bastard must be dead.
