Ch: 21 [The Vault pt1]

As Jack and Sara marveled at the treasures within the vault, Jack's eyes caught sight of a small envelope tucked away among the stacks of gold. Intrigued, he reached out and retrieved it, feeling the delicate paper between his fingers.

He turned the envelope over, noting that it was sealed with a wax emblem bearing his family's crest. It was a symbol he had seen before, but its significance had always remained a mystery to him.

With a mix of anticipation and trepidation, Jack carefully broke the seal and unfolded the letter contained within. The words on the page were penned in his parents' elegant handwriting, a bittersweet reminder of the family he had never known.

As he began to read, the words resonated deeply within him, carrying the weight of his parents' hopes and fears. They spoke of their love for him, their dreams for his future, and the difficult decision they had made to keep him away from the world of magic.

My Dearest Jack,

If you are reading this letter, it means that fate has led you down the path of a wizard, despite our intentions. We had hoped to shield you from the complexities and dangers of the magical world, but sometimes, destiny has other plans.

First and foremost, we want you to know how deeply we love you. You are our precious child, and your happiness and well-being have always been our utmost priority. We have watched you grow into a remarkable young person, full of potential and kindness.

But the world of magic is not without its perils. It can be a realm of uncertainty, where darkness and chaos lurk in the shadows. That is why we made the difficult decision to keep you away from it, to protect you from the dangers we had experienced firsthand.

Live your life on your own terms, Jack. Find joy and purpose in every moment. Surround yourself with people who love and support you, for they will be your strength in the face of adversity.

We ask one thing of you, dear child: Do not try to find us. The past is behind us, and it is in the past where it must remain. We want you to forge your own path, free from the burdens of our mistakes. You deserve a life of peace and fulfillment.

We implore you to remember our words. Do not seek vengeance or pursue a path of retribution. Revenge only begets more pain and sorrow, and we would never wish that for you. Instead, embrace the light within you and let it guide your actions.

Know that wherever you go, our love will be with you. We are forever proud of the person you have become, and our hearts will always hold a place for you. May your journey be filled with wonder, courage, and unwavering determination.

With all our love,

Your Mother and Father

Jack's hands trembled slightly as he read the heartfelt words penned by his parents. Waves of emotions crashed over him—love, longing, and a profound sense of loss. It was both a blessing and a burden to have this glimpse into his parents' thoughts and wishes.

Tears welled up in Jack's eyes as he absorbed the weight of their message. They had made a difficult choice to protect him, to shield him from the dangers and darkness that plagued the world of magic. Their love for him was evident in every word, in their desire for him to live a peaceful and fulfilling life.

As the tears fell, Jack felt a sense of acceptance wash over him. He understood the significance of his parents' words, the importance of living his life on his own terms. It was a call to embrace his own destiny, to carve a path that honored their love and sacrifice.

Gently folding the letter, Jack held it close to his heart. He knew that the past could not be undone, and seeking revenge or trying to find his parents would only lead to more pain and turmoil.

Jack's mind swirled with conflicting emotions. He understood his parents' desire for him to live a peaceful life, but the longing to know them, to understand their story, burned within him. He couldn't ignore the curiosity that tugged at his heart, the need to uncover the truth that lay hidden in his family's past.

But as he glanced at Sara, who stood beside him, he realized that his actions would not only affect his own life but also the lives of those he cared about. He had a responsibility to protect and guide his sister, to provide her with the stable and nurturing environment she deserved.

'I am sorry, Mom, Dad... I can't respect your wish. I can not stay still and do nothing. No matter what, I will find you and bring you both back home,' Jack thought.

Jack's heart ached with conflicting emotions as he made his silent vow. He understood the risks and the potential consequences of his decision, but the burning need to uncover the truth and reunite his family was too powerful to ignore.

However, he also recognized the importance of being cautious and approaching his quest with wisdom and care. Revenge was not his motivation; it was a desire for answers and a longing for the love and connection he had been deprived of.

"You ok, Jack?" Sara's hand tugged his sleeves.

Jack turned his attention to Sara, his eyes filled with a mixture of determination and concern. He gently wiped away his tears and mustered a reassuring smile for his younger sister.

"I'm okay, Sara," he said, his voice steady but filled with resolve. "Just a fly caught in my eyes... By the way, it seems you found a treasure chest."

Sara was holding a small chest in her left arm.

"Yes, it's yours," She extended the chest toward Jack, "Your name is written on it."

"It seems your parents left some important things for you in there," Jax said with a curious look in his eyes.

Jack's eyes widened in surprise as he saw the chest with his name on it. He carefully took it from Sara, feeling a mix of excitement and trepidation. With trembling hands, he opened the chest to reveal its contents.

Inside, he found a wooden box, a wand nestled within its velvet lining. The wand felt warm and familiar in his grasp, as if it had been waiting for him all along. Jack couldn't help but wonder about its origins and the power it held.

Jax's voice broke through his thoughts. "That, my friend, is a wand. It's a powerful tool for wizards, allowing them to channel and control their magic. But each wand is unique, and it's important to have it evaluated by a wandmaker to determine its true potential."

Jack nodded, realizing the significance of the wand. "We should take it to Ollivander's, the wand shop in Diagon Alley. He'll be able to tell us more about it."

As he continued to explore the contents of the chest, Jack's gaze fell upon a simple green crystal ring. Its design was unassuming, yet there was an air of mystery surrounding it. Even Jax seemed unsure of its purpose.

"What is this, Jax?" Jack asked, holding up the ring.

Jax examined the ring closely, his eyes narrowing in concentration. "I'm not entirely sure. It seems to be a magical artifact, but its specific properties are unknown to me. Perhaps it holds a hidden power or has a unique function. We should seek the counsel of a knowledgeable wizard or magical historian to unravel its secrets."

Jack nodded, realizing that the ring held potential for discovery and adventure. He carefully slipped it onto his finger, the coolness of the crystal sending a shiver of anticipation through his body.

Lastly, Jack noticed a small bag in the chest. It appeared ordinary at first glance, but Jax's explanation piqued his curiosity.

"What's in this bag, Jax?" Jack inquired, holding up the seemingly unremarkable pouch.

Jax grinned, a glint of excitement in his eyes. "That, my young friend, is a Bag of Infinity. It's a rare and powerful enchanted bag that can hold anything and everything, except for living beings. No matter how much you put inside, it will never fill up. It's a handy tool for carrying supplies, storing valuable items, or even concealing secrets."

Jack marveled at the possibilities, realizing the bag's practicality and the advantage it could provide in their future endeavors. He carefully tucked the bag into his pocket, grateful for its potential usefulness.

With the wand, the mysterious green crystal ring, and the Bag of Infinity in his possession, Jack felt a newfound sense of empowerment. These artifacts, coupled with the wealth in the vault, presented opportunities and challenges that lay ahead.

As Jack closed the chest and secured its contents, he turned to Sara and Jax, his eyes shining with determination.

"We have a lot to learn and discover," Jack said, his voice filled with excitement. "But first, let's take some gold... We need to buy supplies."
