It was a bit off, methinks

Aight, so let's talk about Chapter 177 - Basilisk.

Been a while since I've had such a controversial response to a chapter I wrote, and upon reading through it, yeah.

It does feel a little off.

I definitely could have done that better.

As with every other chapter I write, I usually iterate on it over time, and by the time the book is ready for release, I tend to iron out the kinks which results in a much better product. I tend to avoid changing impactful events (the same thing stands for this chapter) but I can see the need for an overhaul in how it was presented.

Thing is, I might need a bit of help.

As always, feedback is immensely welcome. If you ever feel that something was off about a chapter, tell me, because I DO take feedback like that into consideration. There are numerous points where someone brings something up and the solution just clicks. I tend to be a bit blind to even rather obvious mistakes at times since I build the writing off of an internal logic.

Now, it's probably worth to bring up an elephant in the room: I'm bloody tired. Taking care of an infant makes for some pretty rough sleep. This may or may not have some influence on the quality of my writing.

Some might be tempted to suggest I take a bigger break, but I really don't want to do that.

I'm just going to lose the habit and fall out of practice. And let's be real, the baby ain't going anywhere, I'll have to adjust to this sooner or later so might as well get started.

And also, for the sake of total transparency and because I really don't want to be an asshole: Any promises I make about the schedule come from what I honestly intend to do. But what I intend to do sometimes clashes with what my current situation allows me to do.

As of right now, I am trying my best to deliver 2-3 chapters per week. I won't stop trying until I can do that reliably.

But like I said, adjusting to having a little baby in the house is hard. It will take me some time to get there, even if I'm trying my best. With that being said, the last thing I want is to line up a bunch of false promises since that isn't fair to you guys in the slightest.
