Blender Log 1

I'm not usually a big fan of posting WIP stuff - I think it ruins a bit of the magic seeing the behind the scenes of your porn.

That being said, the size of the project that I'm taking on with Blender is rather big so I think to pass the time I'll be talking about what's happening and what I'll be trying to do.

Blender is a 3D graphics & animation software and has risen to the rank of being interchangable with pretty much every other home use 3D software. It's free and more importantly open source, and has been upgraded like hell since it's release 14 years ago by enthusiast developers around the world.

It's used to create animated short films, photorealistic designs for things like IKEA catalogues, and anything else in 3D that is crazy impressive.

Basically what I'm saying is: it's now about HOW DO I rather than CAN I.

Things I'm learning, in order:

- sculpting (designing the characters, learning bits and pieces of anatomy)

- UV unwrapping (flattening out 3D models into 2D to apply textures)

- texturing (I'm ripping textures from various things but will have to modify them heavily to fit my preferences)

- rigging (assigning the parts of the character that move, and how)

when I've honed these skills enough, I'll be able to release something. My aim right now is to produce something at least better than TK17 quality, which should be pretty easy. TK17 handled all of these things and the only thing I had to worry about was animating.

So why am I doing this then? Although the amount of skills I'm learning at once is a big bite, mastering Blender will give me almost unlimited freedom in a 3D space.

In TK17 I could pretty much only practice animation, and everything else was predetermined by the game.

In Blender, I'm looking forward to:

Total control of how everything moves.

Smiling wasn't actually possible in TK17. Only very subtle smiles looked good. I'll also be able to manipulate the mouth much better for BJ's, kissing, and whatever I can manage to shove down their throats. Throat bulge? Sure.  Stomach bulge? Sure.

I'll also have a lot of fun squishing boobs, asses, dicks, balls realistically. Seeing body parts get squeezed and actually animate the effect. It's all possible with enough skill.

Realistic lighting!

In TK17, the engine was 15 years old, and the upgraded lighting you could see in my videos were some modifications by people of Modsgarden. They looked great in comparison to the vanilla game, stunning really.

But Blender actually calculates light as accurately as it can like in the real world. If I can design a set well and light it properly, I can make these dicks look even better.

Possibly liquid physics?

This one is uncertain because rendering fluids takes a significant amount of time, but in practice it can be done. Designing actual shooting out cum should be possible. It might take less time if I'm not animating an entire olympic swimming pool shooting out (not that I wouldn't do that if I could) so we will see!

And finally... Enthusiasm.

There is so much to learn and so much to do in Blender and I'm already so excited with what I've accomplished in a couple of weeks. TK17 was drying out any creativity in the process that wasn't animating and writing, and as central as they are to the videos, I love a lot of challenge.

Now, the downsides are that designing locations and designing clothes is something I'll have to do by myself now. Personally I'm really excited to get to do that, since I can fit and squish clothes onto characters bodies exactly how I want to. Get ready for some epic cleavage and tight jeans...

Rendering is also a new problem - maybe. If I produce a few seconds of animation a day, I might be able to render it during the night if I'm smart about reducing the size of the scene. But making a full several minute long video is certainly a much longer project now.

So in conclusion: More work, better outcome.

Right now the shot in the picture above is the sculp of what I've got. I'm sculpting Laurene and learning a lot about the process. Never having sculpted before, it's rather crazy to go straight into trying to sculpt a human face from a reference, but I'm definitely enjoying the hell out of it.

The base body isn't mine, I found a generic female mesh and modified it to be a little more THICK. It also isn't textured, I just applied colours to the meshes for fun.

I'm not sure how I'll be handling the hair. Making actual hair with individual strands is render suicide, so I won't be doing that. There'll definitely be physics, but I'll have to see how good I can make the hair look without increasing my render times to 4 months per frame.

The dick isn't that visible from so far away, but I'm giving it a lot of unique detail. That's my plan for every girl that I'll be trying to recreate. It's still a mouthbreaking 12 inches long. Blender uses actual real world measurements, so measuring things is very easy. Laurene is also 5'10" to a T.

I'm almost satisfied with the sculp itself, and will be moving onto learning UV unwrapping. This one's a doozy. Have you ever considered how easy would it be to flay a person in a single continuous cut?

... Okay not the best wording for that. But yeah, I didn't expect this to be a skill of it's own but it definitely is.

That's all for now! This is so much fun. :)

It's so much fun after a year of working with so many restrictions :). It's a free program and has some of the best tutorials available on Youtube (Blender Guru is great) so if you ever feel like giving it a shot, go for it.

Lition

I'll probably manage for now. But thank you

Lition

Wow now i want for myself to work with blender xD It sounds like a wish become true/real^^

hoped1988

I am more then ok donating my PC and electricity for a render farm.

CaptainTnA

I've already bought a top of the line PC thanks to you guys. In the future I'll probably be looking into a render farm aka multiple, multiple PCs that share the workload to render scenes much faster. But for the time being, I'm absolutely fine with my setup. Thank you for the nice thought, it's awesome to get support like that. :)

Lition

Wow what a mind blowing update. Do you maybe want to a fund raiser for you to get a faster hard drive, ram and video card so you can render faster?

CaptainTnA

I'm glad to hear it's going well. :)
