rembrandt inspired set

Special request to come up with a set of images in the rembrandt style. This style usually is specific to a certain shadow from the nose on to the face, but it is simply a high contrast and narrow light. It doesn't allow a lot of movement which is fine since my space doesn't allow for a lot of room anyway. For modeling I've always struggled with it. This lighting is great for bringing out any lines and marks on the body. I can see it's inspiration for drawing. The lines are thick and obvious. Often this light is considered very unflattering. A photographer once told me that the most flattering lighting is right in front of the face, and only to move it around depending on how fortunate someone's features are. Another photographer taught me to always keep my face towards the direction of the light for the most flattering appearance. In this exercise I practiced multiple facial and body angles to see how it affects the lines on my body and face. It is very true that the most flattering light on my face is towards the light, but the light is still nice and more interesting in other angles. I think it'll depend how much a focus on the face and the facial expressions I want. I think in some ways the light erases some of the expressions, but in others you fully see them.
