In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below
We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
It is November 11th 2018. On this day, 100 years ago the Seminal Catastrophy of the 20th century finally came to an end. It claimed the lives of over 17 million people, shattered 4 empires and left an entire generation torn by the horrors of modern warfare ushered in by blind, idiot nationalism. And all for what? I don't know. There were no victors in this war.
It achieved nothing and the horrible peace treaty set fire to the fuse of the next even more devastating war, which brought even more horrors.
And because mankind as a species is completely incapable of learning from past mistakes we're on our best way to do it all over again. Maybe this time will be the "War to end all Wars".
Prepare to cry:
