Thanks for reading!

The short version:

URGY is going on an indefinite hiatus. This Patreon will be paused for a few months, to give people a chance to unsubscribe if they want, before relaunching to be about my writing projects in general.

The long version:

Hi everyone, thanks for reading URGY! I just posted the last batch of chapters, so if you’ve been waiting for more content before catching up, now’s the time to jump in—because this is where the story is going to stay for a long time.

For a variety of reasons (dissatisfaction with the slow release pace, dissatisfaction with the story’s quality in general, the desire to go back from this “side project” to my “main project” for a while), I’m going to stop further publication of URGY until the rest of the series is written. Which is probably going to take a very long time (years, if ever), especially since I’ll be working on other projects at the same time.

If you’re a veteran reader of web serial fiction, you should know this means URGY is probably dead forever. Let’s be real here—the odds are not in my favor.

How does all this affect you, an official Patron of the Patreon? Well, I’m going to pause the Patreon for at least the next 3 months (as in, no one will be charged) (since, y’know... there’s not going to be any new URGY content to charge for). If you’re here exclusively for URGY, now’s your time to skedaddle.

But if you want to stick around (honestly, if you’re still here, you’ll probably like the other things I do too), I’m going to cull the $7 URGY preview tier and stick with a single $2 “support everything I do” tier. Please downgrade to that tier—there’s really not going to be anything worth more than that, while I’m in this weird transition period.

So, what kinds of “everything” will I be doing? The same, mostly: writing stories that appeal to a particular variety of sci-fi/fantasy nerd. Giving regular progress updates on whatever I’m working on, if it isn’t ready to share yet. Maybe some blogging, occasionally. (On that note, I’ve written an URGY Arc 1 retrospective that I’m going to post soon on my main website. If you want to read more about the internals of URGY’s development and a deep dive into my decision to soft-cancel it, that’s where you’ll get the full scoop.)

In the meantime, uhh share your thoughts on the story so far i guess
