This is also why Martha was so confused and like WTF when Jonas kissed her in season 1 and was like "we're just not a good match." Yes, Ulrich and Hannah's talk on the swings was like their talk in the 80s. It was the same conversation about a world without Winden. I like how this episode kind of explained how people feel when they encounter time travel. They say that they feel like they've experienced deja vu. As for why Michael killing himself would make Mikkel go to the past, you're right to be confused right now. We just know Adam baited Jonas into trying to prevent it just to put him in his place basically. We could argue that if Michael didn't off himself then Jonas would not have gone to the caves the day Mikkel went missing. Ultimately this all gets explained as the show goes on.
