Steven R. McQueen (Jeremy) is actually older than Nina Dobrev but only by one year. He was 22 when this aired. Most of the main cast is around the same age except for Ian Somerhalder (Damon) and Paul Wesley (Stefan), who are a bit older, with Ian being the oldest at 32 here, and Paul at 28. Ian is the same age as Matt Davis (Alaric) and 9 years older than Sara Canning (Jenna), who is only a year and two older than her niece and nephew on the show.
