I really like this one. Lumino, who’s talking to his headless sister’s body, seems uncomfortable by the thought of forgiveness, saying to ‘forgive no one.’ He claims that he has done nothing wrong, but he’s turned away from her - as if he’s trying to convince himself that, rather than her. Even the statement of ‘we did what we wanted, and we got what we deserved’ sounds a lot more like a reasoning than a truth. Lumino doesn’t want forgiveness, especially Arnyek’s. Why? Because it puts the theory and implications out that, yes, Lumino was wrong. I imagine that, through the Great War, and even Eleodora leaving him, he still wondered if everything he was doing was *actually right.* With the thought of forgiveness, that defensive ‘I did nothing wrong’ shatters, especially with Arnyek even confirming that statement with the ‘you are the one to blame, you ruined everything.’ Arnyek, being able to only sit there due to having her head cut off, by ‘forgiving’ Lumino, she actually is doing a lot more damage to him than spitting insults. To have his sister, the one he created all of this mess to defeat, actually forgive him - that defeats his whole purpose of getting his revenge and making her pay for what she did to him. Yet, what intrigues me the most is his reaction to Arnyek’s insult about him abandoning his child. I’m guessing it’s referred to Eleodora, because of how much he loved her, and because of his reaction. Typically, at insults, Lumino has a blank, uncaring face regardless of what is said, as shown in arts such as where Myra curses at him, or a few others with one or two featuring Plumo. However, at the revelation that ‘this is to be expected from someone who abandoned his daughter’ - he becomes very distressed, and even moves his hand up- to either cover his ears as to not listen to her, or just to dig his hands in his hair. Lumino is severely bothered by the fact that him and Eleodora are no longer on good terms, I think, and as much as he does not want to admit it, because of his overall ‘expressionless’ self and personality, he really wants her to return, and it’s the thing he’s regretted the most out of all the things he’s done. Lumino hates forgiveness, because it confirms that what he did was, indeed, wrong, and with forgiveness, he cannot continue to tell himself that everything he did was right. alright alright enough yapping 😭
