The Fisher-Price bit made more sense the 2nd time I read it, my eyes kind of glazed over the first time around (probably because I was still thinking about the comic). Them being tacky and vain enough to commission a toy company for colorful, plastic intelligence weapons is properly mocking and very believable. There's some examples in live-service games where the devs infantilize grown adult characters and their weapons and they end up selling digital-boat-loads.
