Adding some new tiers to my Patreon! Please read below for more information

Hello!

As you may or may not have noticed, I just added two new Patreon tiers: 5$ and 10$. Now, first and foremost, let me assure people: nothing is being taken away from 2$ patrons, who will still have full access to all content posted on here. Instead, the new tiers just offer more options for people who want to support me, as well as a special shout out every month. Let me explain briefly;

When I first started the Patreon about a year ago, I never really anticipated it being anything more than a place to put some extra content and earn a little bit of pocket money on the side. As such, I didn’t really put any thought into the tiers I made, and just had everything under a single 2 dollar tier. Fast forward a year, and my comics have grown in popularity far more than I ever imagined— oh yeah, and Covid happened. Now that

1. Patreon has become a more significant source of income

and

2. I no longer have a job

I figure I need to take the Patreon a little more seriously. Since its inception, numerous people have suggested I’m underselling my stuff on here. I don’t want to rip anyone off — I think 2 bucks a month is a fair, affordable price for anyone kind enough to support me. But since there seems to be a demand, I want to offer something extra for people willing to pay a little bit more.

Offering good rewards can be especially difficult for comic artists on Patreon, but I think I have a solution. Many video essayists and podcaster will offer “name in credits” as a higher-tier reward, so I’m doing something similar. Patrons paying 5 dollars and up will have their names included in a monthly one-page thank you comic or illustration, in which I will ideally use the text as part of a joke or gag. These comics will be posted both to my twitter, so everyone can see how much I love you guys, and to this Patreon, for archival purposes. 10 dollar patrons, in their infinite generosity, will also receive… bragging rights! And a special vanity role on the Patreon discord server.

These new tiers are sort of a test-run; we’ll see what the reaction is like after a few months. I want to do something that is positively received by patrons, so if people really don’t like this idea I’ll try to figure something out that can make everyone happy.

Please bear with me in case there are any initial issues with these new tiers. Some of you might already be supporting me at these levels, so please just double-check to make sure you are subscribed at the tier you want.
