I won't spoil anything here, but I will say that the genesis of this idea was a conversation about samey, boring Christmas movies for kids; shit called Ted Christmas or like The Christmas Goose about a fat fucking cg goose who has to save Christmas. Even Christmas movies for adults are usually the same shit! Some romcom holiday movie about a dysfunctional family someone's significant other has to meet, some lonely chick wishing for a Christmas romance (who might find it in an unlikely place...). To me, the only truly worthy Christmas movie is the Jim Carrey Grinch. Better than the original, I'm sorry! The only one that actually grapples with the grotesqueity of it all.
During said conversation, I basically riffed out the rough draft of this idea, and thought it would be a fun idea to work on. Nothin world-shattering, but another fun chance to work on my writing. While reading, definitely keep in mind the context it was pitched in-- as a counter to all these shitty, hokey Christmas movies.
