The pink triangle was indeed used in Nazi Germany to identify homosexuals in the same way that the gold Star of David was used to identify Jews. At some point in the intervening years, I would guess the 60s but that is only a guess, the gay culture reclaimed it as a symbol of solidarity and pride. Not entirely sure why he's wearing it, but it would probably have something to do with his newly embraced non-binary gender identity.
