hahah thats true they do Portrait drag queen/crossdressers on a kinda offensive way ... :/ ... but then it shows a couple of really badass influencial characters on the manga as well. (Mr.2 and Emporio) so that's something :P But yeeeah ... thats a flaw on the show

2016-10-07 19:19:22 +0000 UTCI've read some of the manga. I've got most of the episodes on dvd. Definitely an awesome show! One of my favorites! And I like the underlying societal messages. I'm on the fence about how the show portrays crossdressers/transgendered (just saw the episode where Sanji was sent to the island of drag queens). I get that it's played up to be funny, but at first it doesn't seem all that positive. But later on, during the Impel Down arc, I think the portrayal is done in a more progressive light.
