Announcement: An End to My Patreon Time

Hi everyone! Since you've already see the post title and image, I'll skip any lead up to this and just rip the band-aid off the rest of the way: I've decided to end my time as an active movie reactor/Patreon poster.

I've been agonizing over this decision for a while. I still love reacting to the videos, and hearing from people who enjoy watching them. Knowing I was making some people out there laugh or providing a bright spot in some rough times meant--and means--a lot to me, and I'm especially grateful to all of you who came here to show me your additional support.

The trouble is that I'm also getting burned out. Even when I take hiatus breaks, I find reacting still takes up a big part of my mind, knowing I need to get back to it, trying to figure out how to get views, etc, and makes it harder for me to focus on other projects I want to be devoting energy to. Life is also just busier now than it used to be, leaving me less time to devote to videos.

So, after this month, I won't be posting here anymore. Still to come in May here: an Anaconda ciderpunk watch, a Mary Reilly first-time reaction, and a Dog Soldiers rewatch after seeing it years ago. May is a long month, however, so I may sneak another one in before the 31st. I'm thinking Firestarter, since I never did see that...

I'll be leaving this page open to paid subscribers, however, on the chance that some people who find my videos on YouTube want to come here to see the full-length versions of anything. But there won't be any additional content in the future. (In other words, I recommend cancelling your subscriptions before the end of May so you won't continue to be charged for nothing.)

I may post one or two more videos on YouTube of some of the reactions I've released here but haven't edited down to short format just yet. I haven't decided. This will come to YouTube slowly, however, as I won't be diving into editing them immediately, if I do. I think I've plateaued in the YouTube algorithm in any case--though I suppose the hiatuses didn't help.

Note that I'll still be around the Internets if you want to follow me. Mostly I'm only active on Twitter these days (https://www.twitter.com/michaelgmunz). As for what's next for me, creatively: I've got a book idea that I need to get out of my head and onto the page. I'm also pleased to report that someone in Hollywood has written a pilot script for a streaming series based on Zeus Is Dead: A Monstrously Inconvenient Adventure, and we're now hunting for a producer. It could amount to nothing, but it could (fingers crossed) lead to a series, which, as an indie-author, boggles my mind!

So, that's the news, I guess. Once again, thank you all for supporting me on here. It really means so much that people are interested enough in what I do to watch, and to stick around with me through the times where I'm not performing as well as I should. Thank you for all your participation, comments, suggestions, and laughs throughout this whole crazy experiment. I wish you all the best.

...Please drink responsibly. ;)

You're very welcome! And thank YOU for being so involved and supportive! Your comment made my day, and I'm really going to miss being here so regularly. I'm active most on Twitter, and will be keeping the pilot light on this place for a while... Take care!

Michael, I want to thank you for putting up these reactions and having fun with all of us. Whether we watch new reactions or old, there is always a smile on my face. Also I want to thank you for keeping your ideas and books going. To see things moving forward into a positive way is great to see. I do hope either way that we all can still keep in touch. You are a great example to us all.

Thank you! (And I'm deeply flattered! :D) I've been lucky enough on YouTube to where I don't usually get many toxic comments, and can normally ignore them. But the toxic ones make me appreciate the good ones like yours so much more. I'm so glad I could bring some positivity to the whole...ya know...EVERYTHING out there. :)

Thanks, Jim. I'm gonna miss it, too! Thank you for all your comments, suggestions, and support!

Oh Lordy. I both love you and hate you right now :D On the one hand, I'm terribly happy for you since it seems things are really looking up in your personal and business life. And let's face it, YouTube can be a pretty toxic place at the best of times. On the other hand, I'm certainly going to miss you. You've provided me (and I'm sure many other people) with a great deal of joy and laughter during these miserable few years. You're also just f***ing adorable and I'm sure your ladyfriend appreciates what she's got. Basically, what I'm saying is, if you were gay I'd marry you myself ;) Anyway, I've talked enough. All my love, and I wish you every good thing in the universe. Peace, my friend. I hope you know how much you've meant to me

I must say that this is very sad news indeed. I have been a fan since the beginning. I do understand why you don’t want to do this anymore but you will be missed. Good luck with the writing and for god’s sake, Seatbelts!πŸ‘πŸ˜’
