Ooh nice intro, we’re back in magic land again LOL. I always love the echoey voice effect, complete with the ominous chanting in a foreign language, LOL Ope and we’ve been claimed/marked already, noice! I mean, I know that’s where the last part left off, but I guess it’s been such a while that having THIS audio start “in medias res” took me by surprise for a second there. But don’t get me wrong, sometimes I prefer it that way. Let’s get right into things and save the exposition for Later! LOL (Phone rings) “Don’t answer that.” Me, who’s never answered a phone call in her life*: Wasn’t planning on it. *I have, I just don’t like to, LOL “That is NOT your mother calling.” Oh shit, what kind of horror film…? LOL THE OLD LADY VOICE! I remember someone mentioning it but I forgot so thank you for that laugh! Also, that binaural is REALLY nice… I saw it in the tags but there were some really nice whispers and sheet rustles, so thank you both for having that in the audio! It was much appreciated by my ears and I LOL But man, this story is going full paranoia fuel with the “nobody here is who you think they are.” I’m honestly surprised the listener wasn’t quicker to run away with the guardian bc I’d be creeped out enough to be like “ok let’s run!” Like, it seems as though the guardian is an old companion (if not an old friend) and eve if the listener is disoriented and unwilling, I think everything else would’ve scared me so much I would’ve been like “yeah get me out of my house! We can figure it out later, let’s just escape now before it’s too late!” But I’m also a huge coward LOL “I can carry you!” Yay! Piggyback! Do it! I won’t protest! LOL But I like this concept of us being bonded to this guardian, neither of us quite sure what to think of it. You’re hinting at such a deep, complex backstory and I’m intrigued! Oh more succubus sisters. Is it Azela? JK JK “Will she be pleased I brought you into our realm? Not in the slightest.” LOL the delivery of that line had me laughing! Also, the “Little Light” nickname is cute AF! And aww, a nice little comfort closer with some humming! This was an interesting part for sure! I can see that the action and plot are really setting up here, and all the while, so many little bits of lore are being teased. You’re ruthless for keeping it all at arm’s length from us, but that DOES make us all hunger for more. Great job, Marley and DA! This was a very captivating little piece and all the SFX and voices were really fun to listen to. As others have said before, the grandma voice was an unexpected bit of comedy (before you done scared the life outta me when she spoke up for a second time). But man, this reads like a creepypasta (a good one, not a crappy-pasta) and it’s really good! There’s so much opportunity to tell a story that goes forward and backward and every line managed to give just enough to be a cliff hanger without being a spoiler. Yall are evil, and my hat is off to both of you!

2021-05-13 23:37:04 +0000 UTCOh my God, I love this series. The lore is so intriguing and the combination of horror and the feeling of safety in the arms of our guardian is just fantastic. You're such a good writer, Marley! Using DAs grandma voice for a creepy scene like this was a great decision. And then when she started banging on the door and that voice transformed into the monster voice...I seriously flinched. Amazing work, DA! This whole scene had so much tension and painted such a vivid image in my mind. It felt like straight out of a horror movie. I also like how we were kept in the dark about who or what is even after us until it was finally explained in the end. That kept the suspense even higher throughout. So it's a feareater. That does sound pretty scary. I like the idea of a connection to a past lover as a means to track us. That feeling of inescapability made the horror aspect even stronger. Especially since it's been after us for over a year! Also, using Adria's perspective to show how special the connection between us and Veida is was a really nice touch (am I spelling these right?). You've really got me on the hook now, I can't wait for the next episode! Ps: That term eraphagus(?) sounds really cool, did you come up with that yourself, Marley?
