Guess what? Bad news, of course...

So, I finally have something to report, and unfortunately it ain't good. 

A few months ago I announced that I would take a temporary break from writing new content while I dealt with some stuff that prevented me from having the time and focus to write. Back then, I estimated that it would take me at least two or three months to get things sorted and be back to a situation such as I would be able to write my usual 15K words per month of new stuff. 

Basically, I thought that by June/July, I would be back at it, business as usual. But things went quite differently, much to my immense displeasure. 

A few weeks ago I had an accident while going for my usual bike ride. I broke my shoulder, fractured four ribs and, to top it all off, I also got a punctured lung. Long story short, I had to undergo thoracic surgery and was hospitalized for a bit. Once I got out, I still had the broken shoulder (and ribs) to deal with, but that was supposed to just take time and bed rest to heal, that's the usual prognosis. 

Unfortunately, it wasn't so in my case: the broken ribs did heal, but the fracture in my shoulder apparently happened in a particularly unusual and nasty spot, such that the bone still hasn't set as it normally would do after this time. Indeed, the two snapped fragments are in a worse position now than they were at first. This means that, unless some kind of miracle happens within a handful of days, I'll have to go under the knife again, this time to fix the damn shoulder. So yeah, fun times!

I'm writing this because I think it's fair to let you all know that I haven't forgotten about you or about my '''''duty''''' as a content creator. It's just that I'm going through a ridiculously rough patch (just consider that I can't even type as fast nor efficiently as I used to, due to the shoulder issue, and that's so painfully depressing to me that I won't even go into it...) and that's the reason why I'm not back to writing just yet.

I don't know what's gonna happen next nor when I'll be back to writing, so I won't even try to set a potential date for my comeback. I do want to come back though, so let's all hang on to that, for now. I'm sorry that it's taking me so long to be back in business, but it's truly out of my hands at this point, and I hate it, but I can't do anything about it, which only makes me hate the whole situation even more, of course!

Alright, I'll pipe down now. Send a few prayers my way, if you're lucky enough to believe in that kind of stuff. Just some genuine good thoughts will do, though, I could really use some right now. 

Moral of the story? Be very careful when you get on your bike, because you really have no idea how horribly wrong the most mundane of things can get. And once things start going wrong, well, there's no telling when they'll stop. Trust me, I know.
