Skully’s tabouret

These were shot with a 57” Zeppelin with a diffuser in front and a lamp cover, so the light is restricted in the middle of the lamp and, therefore, more powerful along its edges.
I’ve done cases where it’s even more pronounced an effect than here.
It makes a lot of difference to light whether it’s a large surface or a large surface covered in the middle.
I suppose I should make a demonstration to show this better (just thinking out loud here 😅).
Oh, and another tangent:
I had a guy try draw me into an argument about retouching the other day: "I photograph women like they look, imperfections and all". Good for you buddy, keep duing what you want - and so will I.
My perspective is I want to show the best version of a woman I possibly can. I'm more interested in the feeling than people getting stuck on different details that, in my opinion, do not make it a better picture. So I do skin smoothing, and this, straight out of lightroom) It is one of the more extreme. 
The thing is she came straight from the hospital after some checkups to figure out what's wrong with her, and she told me her skin looked like shit as they couldn't figure out what the problem with her body is, but she didn't want to cancel.
So, should I punish her for showing up, or should I help her feel good in a miserable situation?
That answer is easy for me.
