Translation issue, not a One Piece or One Pace issue. The name is EXACTLY the same in JP. So japanese people would read it as Laugh Tale. It's not that it was revealed at a later episode, it was that they translated it differently at a later episode. It's not One Piece or One Pace's fault, it's the translators who translated it incorrectly.

That was ageesss ago, and I couldn't keep up! I didn't know how I was going to start over. 2026-02-17 05:26:48 +0000 UTCI wonder if this translation is such a spoiler. At this point, we didn’t really know the name of the last island as laugh tale, but it was called raftel. The name “Laugh tale” was revealed at a later episodes. So I don’t really know why one pace did this.

It just shines a spotlight on potential spoilers, making W&S more likely to notice them and be spoiled by them. Since, you know, they do read these comments. That being said, I think you're making a mountain out of a molehill. I certainly wouldn't say a "greatest reveal" has been spoiled here. There's scores upon scores of far more important reveals out there waiting to be found, some of them relevant now, and not a thousand episodes from now - reveals that would actually spoil the enjoyment of the show if they were revealed prematurely.

Won't say what it was just in case for Wes and Steph, but I think others understand what I mean, but it just spoiled one of the greatest reveals in the entire story. And before anyone tries to tell me it isn't a spoiler and that the other subtitles just mistranslated it, you're wrong. Oda very intentionally wrote it only ever using Katakana instead of Kanji so even Japanese people had no idea until Oda revealed it much later. These subtitles went back to change these subtitles to spoil all new viewers.

It's not plotholes or smth, Oda answers everything with time- why few thing's working why few thing's not. just keep watching and you'll get answers!! I really hope people will avoid spoilers in the comments.
