Jitka and Chester

Jitka V is a Checz model who came to Denmark to shoot with me about a month ago.

It is also one of the first sets published in my revamped “boudoir corner” of the studio.

I used to have Rococo wallpaper and a green lounger, but I’ve exchanged them for an abandoned apartment look (also wallpaper) and a secondhand Chesterfield sofa I found at a bargain price.

Light on these is window light diffused through some curtains, and I used my vintage Canon Dreamlens 50mm ƒ0.95 around ƒ 1.2-1-4.

This lens is the reason for the abstract bokeh, despite the background being less than 2’/60cm behind the sofa.

From there on, we tried to make it slightly intimate and abstract and ended up with this set.

What do you think about the corner in general (feel free to comment on the pictures as well)?

Indeed. I’m actually surprised how well it works in color. In case anyone is interested I found it on Amazon.de (they have thousands of different ones). It’s essentially a photo of a real wall, blown up and reproduced on wallpaper, and the make it in different sizes. Back in my apprentice days I’ve done my share of wallpaper and hated it: these days you coat the wall with a roller (like when painting with a roller) and then put the paper on that, much easier than when coating the paper. And it’s very stable directionally to put on. And as important, it’s very easy to peel off again.

I think this looks great and better than before with this background. And it works in color and bw too.

The wallpaper has potential, the model is wonderful, the couch is incongruous and uninteresting (but it does look comfortable 🙂).
