2020-09-12 20:14:14 +0000 UTCYB this was brilliant. Your examples and reasons why I may have this mentality was bang on. Me not feeling good enough for my family is probably (subconsciously) because I see friends and family members living so financially better than me. I respect them and look up to these people. But their children have more and my kids forever ask “dad when are we going on a plane? (As they’ve never been on one) “When are we getting one of those” expensive toys etc). I’m most likely overthinking these emotions. But you’re right I can’t do anymore than I am already when my kids are fed and watered have their own rooms and are generally happy. I think my issue may also have to do with my childhood but I don’t want to share that with everyone.
