I think the fact that inspite of his drive to destroy everything, that everything does not include his allies ..shows Shigaraki could have been saved as a child. Regardless of how we look at it, he was 5 when he killed his family, basically - in a temper tantrum. He had no way to control his quirk, and as a 5yo he wasnt really even able to control his emotions, so even tho Shiraki does clearly blame himself...realistically we can t really blame a 5yo...but ofc OFA capitalized on that trauma and that is how a child was turned into a villain. Also this show makes is very clear that quirks to an extent influnece your personality, and since this is still pretty early in the quirk society, it does show that many families dont know how to handle kids with destructive or weird quirks which often results badly...and ofc it also shows how unhealthy hero society was in general since so far a lot is left to be desired from the hero parenting we have seen so far.
