I'm guessing that part of the reason for her rejecting him was the difference in lifespans between Humans and Elves, and part of why Lutz is not totally human now is because the transformation includes a longer life. (It's been 30 years, which means that a fully human Lutz would be bordering on elderly by now without any rejuvenation).
