The Führer orders Hughes and Armstrong to use all available resources to stop the murderer. Meanwhile, to avoid being in their debt, Mustang introduces Edward and Alphonse to state alchemist Shou Tucker, the "Sewing-Life Alchemist", who obtained his credentials by creating a chimera which could understand human speech.

That's good to know. I'll have to remember that when I go back to watch the original.

We spend more time with Nina and the dog in FMA 2003 and the scene where they see the chimera is more creepy, and the mysterious murderer killing her was more emotional and the result was more brutal^^ Most of the iffy parts of the 2003 version are really in the second half of the series.
